I was really looking forward to this monitor but many of the customer reviews are extremely poor, and many Reddit posts saying it's plagued with QC issues. Combined with the high price, it doesn't seem like it's worth it over the Alienware versions.
Also, it looks like Samsung is already releasing a V2 of this monitor later this year, though information is sparse on what's changed/improved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-TnCFpd6do
I'm torn. It's a great price and I love the form factor over the Alienware.
But as the poster above mentions, the low customer reviews due to quality issues across various sites are a concern.
Between the Alienware and Samsung, folks leaned towards the Alienware mainly due to pricing since it typically went for $1000 (or less).
The Alienware has its own issues with several users reporting fan noise/coil whine (not sure if just the DW or the DWF too).

Alienware 34 DWF has 10% off currently plus Amex $120 rebate for those that qualify. Most important of all is you get three year protection under Dell compared to the one at Samsung. I'll take my peace of mind with Dell in case of burn in.

Samsung quality control sucks. I have had multiple monitors from 27 to 34 to 49" and they have all have had issues. Also for what it's worth MS is GTG, so don't buy this solely for the response time because you most likely will not be getting .3ms
The Alienware (34 DWF) with this panel often drops to $999, I have that monitor and I probably would not buy it again as it is a pain in the ass to use for long sessions.
Basically, Samsung lied about the burnin resistance, so to fix that these monitors have a 4 hour window for usage and then you have to run the pixel refresher on the panel to restore its health. That's the worst part about it as I find it to be a hassle when working from home. I wish the refresher were more automatic and would just always operate when the monitor goes to sleep.
the upside is how fast the thing is. I have never had a monitor change my perception of how fast my computer was (yes you really do get the ridiculous response time with this, that part isn't a lie), this Panel did! The elements of the game were drawing in visibly faster than my old Odyssey G9, that it almost feels like cheating to use this in any competitive gaming.
It isn't a bad display, but the limitations might just become a bit of an annoyance for you. The only thing that makes the alienware worth the risk is the dell 3 year burnin coverage.
the 2023 version of the QD OLED monitors are coming out in a few months. pass on this, given the issues
Given their reliance on the Blue light spectrum, I doubt those will be any better, and I would consider an LG OLED gaming monitor if you really wanted one.
