Also, it looks like Samsung is already releasing a V2 of this monitor later this year, though information is sparse on what's changed/improved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-TnCFpd6do
I'm torn. It's a great price and I love the form factor over the Alienware.
But as the poster above mentions, the low customer reviews due to quality issues across various sites are a concern.
Between the Alienware and Samsung, folks leaned towards the Alienware mainly due to pricing since it typically went for $1000 (or less).
The Alienware has its own issues with several users reporting fan noise/coil whine (not sure if just the DW or the DWF too).

Basically, Samsung lied about the burnin resistance, so to fix that these monitors have a 4 hour window for usage and then you have to run the pixel refresher on the panel to restore its health. That's the worst part about it as I find it to be a hassle when working from home. I wish the refresher were more automatic and would just always operate when the monitor goes to sleep.
the upside is how fast the thing is. I have never had a monitor change my perception of how fast my computer was (yes you really do get the ridiculous response time with this, that part isn't a lie), this Panel did! The elements of the game were drawing in visibly faster than my old Odyssey G9, that it almost feels like cheating to use this in any competitive gaming.
It isn't a bad display, but the limitations might just become a bit of an annoyance for you. The only thing that makes the alienware worth the risk is the dell 3 year burnin coverage.
