i have the this cpu, its a beast for the budget king 1080p and 1440p no problems, low heat energy efficient. this is about the black friday price so its really good.
Value gaming king without a doubt. The 5500 is pretty good as well at $90 or less. As far as GPUs, just don't buy the 4060ti thinking it's a stellar deal.

I grabbed one of these for $118 in Dec of '22, threw a Thermalright FC 140 on top of it - it takes all the tasks I throw at it happily. Massive upgrade from my Opteron 1218!
Maybe some day I'll want/need the 5900 (OEM or X) to add more power, but for now its running great, just need a better GFX card.
I put all my new parts on a MSI Tomahawk b550, then installed that into a Lian Li 216 case...no real issues so far other than hiccups w/ the front USB port and my old Samsung S4 phone...
I too am looking to build a budget gaming system. I found, and am going with, the MSI PRO B550M-VC WiFi ProSeries Motherboard. Feature set seemed great for a $119 board.

The 5600 does have more cache over the 5500

Amazon has it bundled with a ASUS MB. Is the MB any good? Looking to help my son build a budget gaming PC.
