    Yeah, my understanding of a floating shelf is one where you don't actually see the connections between the shelf and the wall (i.e. the screw and mount are hidden under, behind, and within the shelf itself). Thus, it literally looks like it's just floating against the wall. These are not my definition of floating shelves.
