$163 for 4tb model. Wish 2.5 went down as fast as nvme drives! Not all of us have extra slots.

Best I can find so far is that the Vulcan has SLIGHTLY faster read/write speeds but probably surely unnoticeable.

So now begs the question which drive has been around longer and known to be most reliable (fail less with normal use over some years).

Probably not but if you actually need DRAM you aren't buying cheap low tier SSD.

It doesn't matter which model has been around longer. The internal components are regularly changing. Almost no drive bought years ago is going to have the same exact components as one bought today. There are some popular databases/spreadsheets that list what components various models use. Of the four different cheap SSDs I've bought in the last year, every one of them had substantially different components than those listed in the database/spreadsheet.

For what it's worth, I have not used the Vulcan Z but I have tested the CX2 (which I believe is the non-Amazon version of the AX2) and it was thoroughly unimpressive. The 1TB version only writes ~7GB before dropping to around 60MB/s.

i refresh computers for business and i can tell you that TEAM Group suffs are all a little slower than the rest, but real world usage, you won't know the difference. it's funny though, on a PC, it's a little slower than the rest, but on a MAC, its a lot faster than the rest. might be something to do with the slc cache thing, but can't say for sure, haven't looked into it.

Speed is one thing. Reliability is another. I would use a slower speed drive in certain situations if I knew reliability was rock solid. Actually enterprise drives tend to advertise slower speeds, but people in the know buy them for mission critical use cases.
