My wife went for one of these several years back with a cartridge filter in hand, as I knew cartridge filters were non-standard. The shop refused to use it and then billed her $35 for a crappy $4 cartridge filter of their own. I called them up straight away and told the manager he could either credit me $27 (giving him a generous 100% markup) or I would come down and he could explain to me why he ripped my wife off. He opted to refund the entire $35 and we never went back. Watch for bogus charges with these places. They're no better than Firestone, Meineke, etc.

The difference is theory vs practicality. You a "double ev owner" got mad that engineers don't have practical experience when on a subject of oil changes. You theorize your ability to remember things and show up for 4 years makes your opinion worthwhile or that you can climb some imaginary ladder faster than anyone else. My job is not in mechanics, it is a hobby but I do have friends and family in the field which is practical experience. It is also why I have posted facts, from recall lists to shortened OCIs and you post nothing.

My experience has been that this place is so expensive that even with coupons, it costs more than Walmart. And it was backed up with a line, making it slower too.

The local Walmart refused to an oil change saying they don't do oil changes on European cars. There's no sign or notice that says that. So you don't find out until after you've waited in line.

Some engines, such as Honda VTEC, may be susceptible to problems with varnish/sludge plugging up the oil control valve or fine mesh screens on spool valves, etc. On those, I'd probably run a shorter interval, most cars people change the oil way too often.

It is very expensive, it is not slick. But one thing to agree is, they finish oil change in below 10 mins

They're normally twice as expensive as other places around me, so this brings it back to normal. It's totally sketch that they don't show pricing on their website. I had to call them to get basic pricing info, and it was a hassle to get through to a person.

Isn't time a factor too? Probably can't go too long (year or more) between oil changes even if mileage is low
