Can this cable work with device that use proprietary charging protocol? Or those proprietary charging protocol (like Dell laptops) need their special charger and cable and likely won't work with this?

Anker 737 paired with Anker 717 can utilize the 140W. Also my friend has a HP Omen gaming laptop. Testing it on GTA V max settings it pulled the 140W the 737 was capable of outputting through this cable. But realistically most laptops won't need this much since they usually top out at 100W.

First thought I had too. There ain't many and most are probably large and/or gaming laptops.
Good luck!

Note that this cable would not help with even the MacBook Pro and its charger, as its USB C ports are limited to 100W. It needs its MagSafe cable to fully utilize 140W, but future models may have USBC ports that can reach that speed.
