If you buy direct from Apple, you have to deal with their absolutely senseless billing. They charge you for the product and they also charge you a $100 for the gift card. So you overpay by $100, and now I have to wait to see if the actual billing on the CC will end up being a $100 less.
A 3-trillion dollar company can't figure out how to correctly bill a discounted gift card. I see 3 different purchase amounts, one on the invoice, another on their web site and the actual charge being a $100 more. Go figure!

If you looked at your receipt, you'll notice that the product you were charged for is -$100 off the actual educational discount. So if the educational discount for the item was $450, then you'll get charged $350 for the item then $100 for the gift card. This prevents people from using the gift card and returning the item. You can still return the giftcard (if not redeemed) and item for full refund before the return period ends.

That's what I'm hoping, although currently I show 2 charges as pre-auths, one for $100 and one for $450 ... I'm hoping the final posted charges will be for $100 and $350. If not, I'll be returning all of it.
Woot has the m1pro 16" 1tb/16gb for about 1700 with tax. Refurb but Comes with apple 1 year warranty and apple care eligible. After 3% back, 150 off and 80 of apple care it's about 700 more expensive for the new years model. What is the consensus?

Will be picking up a 15" MacBook Air for $1200 + $180 (upgrade to 16GB RAM) + free $150 gift card. What a deal for a 15" MacBook Air! Certainly beats buying a 15" MacBook Pro back in 2013 for $2000ā¦!
Where are you seeing the 16MB ram option? I only see 8MB options for the air and MacBook Pro??
Slick peeps, we have the MacBook and the email for the $150 giftcard. What are the steps to get the AppleCare with educational discount and pay with the gift card at the apple store? Do I apply the giftcard to my account first? Do I need to take the physical MacBook with me to the apple store?
