Under the "New and Used From" section for white 2-packs, there is some large number of these bulbs available for around $5 each. If ordering 3+ packs, you might be able to use slow shipping to get a $1-2 credit off your next order.

Usually AZ Warehouse only has one item at the listed price, but there must be loads here.

I bought 10 2-packs and am replacing most of the remaining standard lights in my house for about $100, and can return any at a Kohls or UPS that aren't working perfectly.

Care to elaborate? I'm having trouble seeing their advantage over every other smart bulb with the same or more features for a third the price. And they're not even high CRI from what I can tell. 10 years ago they were class leading but how is the price justified now?

It's a valid question. From what I can tell, these aren't even smart bulbs, they're just dimmable via Bluetooth/app. That's only additional feature these have over regular LED bulbs, plus the scheduling stuff using the app.
Unless you really want that feature, I'd pass on these

So why do people still pay so much for Hue lights? What am I missing?

From my experience, I have 6 smart bulbs and 6 smart switches and about 20 hue bulbs. I never had issues with my network until I put all the smart bulbs on there tying up connections.

The hue bulbs connect to a bridge and that bridge is the only thing on the network. That's the major thing for me.

If you have a few bulbs then probably not a big deal one way or the other.

Same. Good deal if you don't care about it being 2700k but the option to change white ambience is much nicer

Yeah, I MacGyvered it into a questionable Zigbee hub. I have no Hue hub but I can still control lighting level. Bluetooth connectivity works but I have no use of that.

BTW, single bulbs for $5.59 or so are still available.
