For portable use, this is too big (weight and power)

The 6250 one is 20% off so around $533 with tax. Great deal and could possibly power a smaller hvac depending on starting needs. You could add a soft start to the hvac I suppose. You really need a serious whole home generator to handle a decent size house hvac. The 6250 would easily handle multiple window units and other things and would be a whole lot cheaper to get all of that for when a serious power outage occurs in the summer and still keep you cool and fridge running etc.
