I think any of these are good deals ... if there's a way to get a machine with a high resolution 120Hz OLED display for less I've yet to hear it.

I could care less about about so called buying guides. They are the equivalent of geek squad at best buy or apple genius bar. You keep going back to that argument makes me take you less seriously as well. Why does it even matter to you if someone wants to have 16gb of memory. I don't get this at all. Just let it go. The "world revolves around me" culture statement refers to you thinking you know what people's memory needs are based on your own needs. You can't fathom how other people's needs doesn't align with yours. It's a common theme on SD.
You think that just because you can easily run 27 tabs with 8gb means that's all a non power user would need. That's laughable.

As I said multiple times already. It matters because the first 2 pages of this thread and tons of others are covered in comments of 8gb or even 16gb being terrible deals, not worth buying, totally unusable. That's horribly inaccurate advice for about 90% of users and use case scenarios. 8gb and 16gb of ram are more than most people are ever going to use on a day to day basis. I've stated my use case is I max out 64gb regularly so if I was basing this on my needs I would never suggest 8gb. I've pointed out that your use case does not need 32gb of ram, you literally are just wasting your IT departments time and your companies money then claiming I'm using a "world revolves around me culture" which is fine that's your choice to do so but to claim that you need 32gb to run zoom and some chrome tabs is beyond absurd.

Edit: Sorry responded to wrong usage. It was the other guy who claimed that as his usage. You were the 50 tabs at once guy, which also is fine on 8gb so not really relevant.

And I have already proved to you that with my usage of of only multiple tabs on chrome open (less than 50 but still more than 27) that I experienced slowdown and freezing which easily resolved by adding 8gb more memory. Somehow, this real life example is not good enough for you and so now you are claiming I have defective memory. Like seriously? I don't doubt that you can run perfectly fine with 8gb with 27 tabs open on your machine, yet how is it that you cannot fathom that I have issues with 8gb on my use case? Every windows system is different. Not just in hardware, but software, drivers, updates, etc. Then there are the memory usage of each website. You can't just estimate it should take up this amount of memory. You have no idea what website I am talking about.

You can easily estimate which is why there is estimates all over the place as well as low, standard, and high usage numbers (your computer records all this data as well). We'll ignore that since it doesn't matter. The major red flag in your scenario when troubleshooting is in the usage you are talking about the ram should not be the problem, in that scenario even your cpu is likely to be overtaxed before you run out of ram... So since it should not have been the issue but you say did fix the problem that raises a lot of red flags. If I go to my mechanic with an extra wheel bolted to a low tire he's really going to question how I reached that conclusion when all the other cars on the road are doing fine with fewer tires. If I point out that 18 wheelers need more than 4 it's not going to help. One off weird scenarios and outliers aren't who you use to provide advice, you might say something like "for most people 8gb would be fine, I had a weird problem where X happened and I needed 16gb just to use Chrome"

Why should it not have been the issue?? Have you ever even opened and used 50-100 tabs? I have heard countless stories of people adding memory to their system and seeing immediate improvement in their system from just web browsing. Sure, you can say most people don't have 50 tabs open, but guess what, there are people who do, and doing so doesn't make them a power user. They should still be within the expected market of this laptop.

And as I said from the very beginning, more memory CAN be helpful. Unlike you, i am not going to tell anyone one way for sure or the other. You on the other hand are SO adamant that it will not be helpful. If your use case doesn't need more than 8gb, good for you, but stop telling people what is fine for you HAS TO BE FINE FOR OTHER PEOPLE.

I am done with this stupid argument. Of all of the stupid unreasonable arguments I have had on SD, this really takes the cake. You must be fun at parties.
