Funny story/words of caution:
We were so happy when we bought our new house and changed the locks to the Eufy fingerprint style late at night of new ownership. We came back on day two for our first night staying and we decided to take a walk to a restaurant nearby since we had barely ate. We both remarked how nice it was to not have to worry about a key as we came back. However we quickly realized we were locked out. Cursing the Eufy, and the backup key not working, we eventually realized it was the door knob that was actually locked and then we cursed each other for locking it since we both knew we didn't do it. We then panicked as we didn't have a spare key anywhere, not even friends or family had one. Our spare keys were in the shop and she had left the garage door opener for it inside the house. We blamed each other some more as it was now dark and we were weary from the move and just wanted to sleep. I figured I could try to slip past the lock but I didn't have any tools and it was a fresh install on all locks and plates, even for the shop. We poked around for open windows as a patrol car drove by and slowed down. I heard sounds of what I believe were him turning around shortly after. We didn't have any ID showing we were the owners on us other than showing virtual paperwork eventually so didn't want to go through that mess. Luckily the very next window, and the last chance as we met up to it, was open and she was able to skirt up inside it, ruining her dress as it tore on something, but she didn't hit her head thankfully and was inside. She cursed some more at me for "overly assisting" her attempt into this higher window. She then turned some lights on and became very sad when she arrived at the door. It was covered in dog slober on the doorknob lock. Our poor dog was scared in the new place alone and attempted to find us, and in the process locked us out.
So, make sure you put tape over the regular door knob lock, or remove it's ability to lock, if you are having contractors or friends use the Eufy while you are away or before your pet has acclimated to it being the new home. It may be a natural habit to just lock the doorknob on the way out for someone else even after you shake this habit. Also, plan ahead and hide an extra key for it, and the Eufy lock, or give them to a family/friend ASAP. You will be very busy on move in day and forget if not planned for. It's great for giving out a code and handling access hours, but plan for the worst and make sure you have a spare outside the house, with someone somewhere.
