Bestbuy selling Samsung S21 FE Tmobile Locked for $199 . you can use your existing line to upgrade or add new line. Bestbuy does not charge any upgrade or new activation fee so phone will be $199+ tax for new line and $249 + tax for upgrade.
Phone will be unlocked after 40 days. You can request @tmobile Help on twitter to get it unlock early as its already paid off. YMMV , though.

S21 FE arrived today and I'm just finishing the initial set up.
After registering the SIM in it and while the new device was copying files over, I checked my T-Mo account online and it showed the new phone and its status showed as locked.
A few minutes later, when all the important apps were downloaded, I checked unlock status again, this time in both the T-Mo app on the S21 FE and on the website, both show the device is now Unlocked w/o me doing anything to unlock it.
I've been with T-Mo for a long time, using only unlocked devices for the last 10 years, so YMMV
Did you activate the new SIM through the Best Buy "setup my new phone" in your online order history or did you just swap over an old SIM card?
So, I booted this up with some old non TMobile sim card and it found a bunch of network operators in the connections settings. Does that mean it's unlocked already?
There was no TMobile logo or apps installed on the phone.
Then, I put in the TMobile sim card and the phone booted up with TMobile logo and made me reinstall android all over again. So, I need to have this definitely unlocked as I am planning to take it on a european trip and use a sim card over there. I already have 3 other phones on a tmobile plan, the one I'd like to transfer has an eStim . What are my options?

The question remains is…if u added a new line for $199 or if u did an upgrade to ur account for the $249 price?

So, it was an upgrade. I am a long time customer. I booted the phone with Tmobile sim in it (the new one it came with) then I went to BestBuy order and clicked on setup my phone. It asked me for my phone number. Then I went to TMobile account and I saw that it had switched my number to the Samsung. Then I clicked 'check my unlock status' and it said the samsung was unlocked. I bet it's because I am a long time customer and I usually buy unlocked phones so I do not use their unlock feature, maybe I get credit for that. Then I took the sim out of the samsung and put it in my old phone and my number then switched back to that phone but the samsung stayed unlocked. So, all good

You've confirmed it's working with another carrier sim?
