Bestbuy selling Samsung S21 FE Tmobile Locked for $199 . you can use your existing line to upgrade or add new line. Bestbuy does not charge any upgrade or new activation fee so phone will be $199+ tax for new line and $249 + tax for upgrade.
Phone will be unlocked after 40 days. You can request @tmobile Help on twitter to get it unlock early as its already paid off. YMMV , though.
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Cost of unlocked phone is $249 + $55+$55+ Plus taxes.
Is it worth ?
You can buy a mint condition, unlocked S21 FE for $269 on swappa. I know mint is not "new" but you don't have to hassle with opening a new account, waiting 40 days for unlock, etc. It's just easier and you save a bit of money.
S21 FE arrived today and I'm just finishing the initial set up.
After registering the SIM in it and while the new device was copying files over, I checked my T-Mo account online and it showed the new phone and its status showed as locked.
A few minutes later, when all the important apps were downloaded, I checked unlock status again, this time in both the T-Mo app on the S21 FE and on the website, both show the device is now Unlocked w/o me doing anything to unlock it.
I've been with T-Mo for a long time, using only unlocked devices for the last 10 years, so YMMV

I think that you got lucky because that was definitely NOT my experience.
If you dont have a tmobile account and you are opening a new tmobile account then they will do a hard pull.
For existing customers there is no hard pull for adding a new line.
There is no hard inquiry at all to start a new account. Coming from a T-Mobile Rep we do a soft credit check and we dont even ask for your full ssn just the last 4. =

This is news to me. When we opened the account at T-Mobile store few years ago they did hard query. Soft credit check is only at Bestbuy ? or even at Tmobile store?
Does S21 have a lot of bloatware that I can't get rid of? I like the simplicity of straight Android OS.
Been using clean android devices since the AndroidOne days and I'm not disappointed by the bloatware that came on this device -- 5 T-Mo apps plus their "AppSelector" app that automatically installed some crap apps like facebook and tiktok during initial setup. But apps installed by AppSelector you CAN simply uninstall.
Samsung's OS has a different feel than a pure android install, If you use Google keyboard, Assistant, Pay, etc, you'll have to install those yourself and if you're a Google cult member, you can call Samsung's built-in apps like keyboard, assistant (Bixby) and S-Pay, "bloatware" too.
edit
Bloat I removed/disabled:
AppSelector - disabled
AppManager - uninstalled
AuraServices - uninstalled
plus the random crap that the above apps installed, I think during the Android v13 upgrade, like facebook and tiktok
What I'm leaving for now:
T-Mobile app, T-Mo Tuesdays, Visual V-mail, T-Mo Play, ScamShield
McAffee - cuz Samsung installed it and I don't have time now to dig deeper into whether it's worth keeping or deleting
Not sure yet:
AppHub and CarrierHub -- seems these may serve some carrier functionality like voice over wifi
I'm in the same scenario. I think you're right, we can probably do whatever we want with it. Only thing is - it won't be unlocked until we activate it.
Got a question regarding eSim. Can I move my eSim from my current pixel to this? And then, after it has been unlocked, can I move it back? If yes, how? Thx

Not quite as good as new, but it was unlocked and I can use it on my existing plan.
would this option still cost me 199 + tax?
