I've had this bike since December and its been great. If you're a beginner on a budget it's more than enough for your needs. Screen is a nice touch too, supposedly you can get other apps on this like Netflix, but I've never bothered with that since I just use my phone
The seat is very adjustable. I'm 6'0 with long legs and I sit at the highest seat setting, but I don't think it'd really work for people taller than that.

This is a great bike. Ours does make an annoying tapping noise for the first couple of minutes of riding which I assume is the belt.

We've had ours since January, I've lost 60+lb riding 10 miles a day since then.(usually riding 20mph average at a 20 resistance setting)

For $300(which this bike is usually $450) is a no brainer.

6ft tall male, I think this bike would be fine for anyone up to maybe 6'3. Beyond that I'm unsure but it does have quite a bit of adjustment.

You don't need to purchase the subscription. I bought this last time it was on sale. Never paid for the subscription service, and the bike works great.

This seems to be on sale for 297 a lot. Is it really a deal at this price?

man, there are so many models of these echelons and hard to compare the features between the models. the reconditioned ones are cheaper, obviously.
but this walmart one - as you say - regularly sitting at $297 - seems about as cheap as they go and is new.
question I have is whether it is better to get a refurb of a 'better' model EX3 or EX5? for not much more $....
Also, can you mod the displays of all models, or is it just the walmart one that is hackable (as detailed in various SD threads on this model in the last few months)

I've got this and also got one of their 22" screen ex5s when they went on sale for $319.(originally $1500).
I like both bikes equally. The ex5s has a better seat but it's tension is slow to translate as there's a lag between when you turn the handle and the tension changing. The sport s does not have that issue.

thanks!! I read that the EX-series have automated resistance and the connect sport-s does not. Did you find that mattered to you? I am not quite sure which types of workouts that would be a factor. I need to read more on that.

Not at all, but I pretty much just use it for cycling, I don't even have a subscription, just do the free rides.

for completeness (to save others looking it up in the many recent echelon threads) - on auto resistance - @flatlight added a comment in the recent woot thread saying
Quote :
Auto resistance is not necessary but you can customize it in the QZ app to automatically follow the Peloton instructor's resistance call outs or set it for erg mode in Zwift where it will try to keep you in your target power zone based on cadence.

It comes with a 10" tablet which you can mount on the front of the bike.

That's awesome! Congrats on the weight loss. I bought this same bike a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't noticed any tapping noise. But I have only used it a few times.
