Edit: deal is working for me. I just looked.
Samsung support was useless. Will try again via calling customer support.
Exactly. Thats why you need to go with bestbuy and just buy their geeksquad. Dont even dream you can swing any warranty claims through Samsung

Really? That would seal the deal for me, I'll give it a shot
The good thing with the Alienware is that it comes with 3 years of burn-in protection, so I feel safe blasting this thing at full HDR and enjoying it until the last 3 months, then I'll file a warranty claim for burn in as I'm sure it'll happen again with another game with static elements in HDR by then, and then re-sell it or something. With Samsung, it's a year, and may/may not cover burn in, so definitely be aware of that.
The Samsung does NOT cover burn-in. If I were you, I'd file a warranty claim sooner than 3 months before the warranty ends, though. The warranty replacement after 60 days from purchase is a refurbished monitor, and there are plenty of horror stories on Reddit from customers that had to go through 4-5 refurbished replacements before they got a good one.
Alienware. It's in the warranty terms. You can read them on their site or the pamphlet that came with it. I assume the timer gets reset when Dell refurbishes them. The refurbished unit I bought from the Dell Outlet site had 4 hours as well. Why did you have to get yours RMA'd, if you don't mind me asking? Burn-in, I assume?
