Phones are easily lost or stolen. If you don't care about all the personal data in your phone being compromised, no worries.
Currently 8 months into my 6a, couple of issues, fingerprint reader is crap, less than 50% accuracy, phone gets hot easily and will throttle, battery life is only enough to last through half the day if you travel on the road alot
Nearly everybody should absolutely have a lock of some kind, as phones can be lost or stolen. Considering the fact that having someone's phone often gives you access to bank accounts, credit accounts and identity, pretty much everything you have from house title to retirement savings to car is potentially at risk. Even if you don't have bank apps, having your phone number gives them an easy pass to get around 2FA, which coupled with a little more information (possible gleaned from your phone) might be enough to still get access to bank accounts, etc.

Good, and well placed (like the old pixel where it's on the back) fingerprint readers are much faster. If I pull my phone out of my pocket it's on and unlocked by the time my eyes see it. Very convenient.

There was some issues with the fingerprint reader when first launched but after a few frustrating updates, I've had no more issues with it. I use it constantly. Mine is always on the dash when I'm working. I use it often. I've had a screen protector since day 1. I unlock my screen literally a hundred or more times a day. Much faster than the pin or pattern for me.

Daughter always uses wired headphones, and puts a lot of strain on the USBC adapter. Need to replace her old, non-5g phone and was looking at this, but ended up getting the Moto G Stylus 5G which is down to 239 for Prime day (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09WCNQVZS/). We'll see if it's any good-I'm sure the camera is worse.

Thanks for mentioning that. I'm seriously considering it too. Love the larger and upgradable storage (very helpful if you want to record or download videos much, or a lot of photos), the stylus, and the headphone jack.

However, consensus is that the pixel takes much better photos, and camera is my top priority. So kinda hard to leave the pixel line.

I have this phone and I wouldn't buy it again. Less than a year from buying it has developed touchscreen issues and Google support sucks. It's fast and battery is decent but as a long term phone I won't recommend to anyone.

Get it if you need an android phone. Trade it in on next rollout promo for a new Pixel 8. They will probably give you this much for a trade in. I have this phone and love it. The newest updates seem to take care of 95% of the issues that came up early on. The finger scanner is the weak link but I have got it working fine.

Have this, bought it at launch. Use it all day everyday and it's been great. I have a simple Spigen case on it, it's a nice slim form factor.

Only concern is the lack of water proofing, and I do miss the headphone jack. Also the prior generation physical fingerprint reader.

When the 6a was first released, I traded in a perfectly working 3a.
I gave this phone about 6 weeks before I boxed it up and sold it on eBay.
I used the money to get a New In Box 4a.

I gave the 6a a chance, and my friends and family had to hear me rant about the following issues:

- Fingerprint Reader was slow and worked 46% of the time.
- Couldn't turn off 5G, which resulted in blowing though my Data (at&t prepaid $300/year 8G/month at the time) during the 2 billing periods I had it for
- Overheating on regular browser, txt and email use
- No headphone jack. Purchased a dongle from official Pixel Online Store. When using the headphone jack in the car, the phone kept cycling through the Assistant and cutting the music off. Really annoying

I really gave this a chance, but this was the worst Pixel I've ever owned- so much so that if the new ones continue to not have a physical fingerprint reader and omit the headphone jack, I just won't purchase a new Pixel when my 4a dies.

This doesn't even look appealing as a spare phone at any price lower than $50 for me to get motivated to pick one up as a 'deal'.

Hard to justify getting this phone when you already got the Moto G Stylus 5g 2022 for $50.

That WAS the slick deal. This is lukewarm at best.

Depends the A54 has microsd but doesn't do 4K60 video. I took a couple pretty good 4K60 video with the Pixel 6A when I was on travel.

Fingerprint reader on the 6 and 7 series are still absolute trash. Especially if you compare it to the previous physical sensors that were on the back of the 5 and earlier series. Still my biggest regrettable purchase in all of the Nexus/Pixel lines.

Had ordered for $299 yesterday and got it delivered today. As it was not shipped by Amazon, I was not able to get a price match so had to return and rebuy but worth it to save 50$. Thanks for posting!

I'm still waiting on a Pixel 5 for around $100 to replace my Pixel 2XL that is still working great that I got for $80 a year and a half ago.

Unpopular opinion but I love my Pixel 2XL and there's so many features that got massively downgraded in newer models. I just got a Pixel 5 and the speakers are trash compared to 2XL. The camera on Pixel 2 was better than 2 XL and both honestly look better than the 5, the optical zoom on my 5 looks like crap. Also, while the OLED does have better dimness without black crush on 3/4/5/6/7 compared to the 2XL, the whites and color saturation do look a lot better on 2 & 2XL (very subjective though, 2XL is an LG OLED that got a lot of criticism, 3 onward are all Samsung OLEDs). Lastly, after using a 6" display (and keyboard) it can be very frustrating using a smaller "normal" sized screen again.

The Pixel 5 is a LOT snappier than my 2XL though -- app installations, switching, and other tasks all go a lot faster. My 2XL has just been dragging, even with LineageOS, and GPS has suddenly been completely borked, so an upgrade was due.
