I posted this earlier today for Lowe's where it was a deal for a couple hours. The deal expired but if you want white or black it is back for Amazon. Tons of smart home features and it is a well designed and built fan. Hope this can help for anyone who missed out.

I love my Haiku fan but sadly after less than 5 years it's having issues. The motor has become quite loud and the light buzzes occasionally when at full power.

5 years isn't a short amount of time but it was a >$1000 fan. A bit frustrating when I have cheap home depot fans lasting longer.

Before the issues it was the quietest, most powerful fan I've used. Outside of the smart features it was extremely good, and the smart features worked quite well. The move to the BAF app was good, I much prefer it to the old Haiku app.
Here's me never hearing of this product, reading the title of this thread, and trying to guess what the product is: "So it's a product for people who are big ass fans of Japanese haiku poetry".

Yeah, I did what I could. It actually seemed to really help for about 2 weeks but then it got worse. I think the slight disassembly/jolting of the whole thing just kinda moved something around and it eventually got back to where it was. Next time I have it down I will do a total teardown to the best of my ability.

Well, that answers my question lol. I am not a fan of units that require disassembly for regular maintenance. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I have a cheap no name fan in my bedroom that's about 28 years old and works perfectly and my great room fan is a 15 year old Home Depot fan and that works perfectly too, fans this new and this expensive should never have any issues.

Wow. Bought this in 2017 for $450 so this is the same price. Never spent so much $$$ on a fan before. I didn't think it would ever drop to that price again.

I really like mine. I don't use the light too much though... but it responds very well to Alexa commands to turn on and off the fan and adjust fan speed. Light too when I use it.

I am planning to move in the future and thought about taking this fan with me but probably won't go through the trouble and risk, but I might wait until it drops to $450 again and then just buy another after I move.

Hmm… I'm seeing some disappointing reviews for what I thought was a top of the line product. I can get 2 Fanimation prop fans for the same price that will have actual wood blades. Tough call.

Posts disappoint me. I waited for some Haiku, only talk of fans.

A 125 Hunter fan from a big box store will often last 10 years. If this can't do that regularly, what is the point? This fan looks pretty generic and uninspiring, what are you paying for?

If I had to guess? High costs due to low production runs.

I have to agree with this. I own 4 Hunter fans, and 1 cheapo Harbor Breeze, none of which are less than 10 years old. All are still completely silent, bearings are smooth, and run at least 8-10 hours per day, 365 days a year. My 22 yr-old stepson's fan runs north of 16 hours a day (You know, to cool the Xbox).

For this money, if you have a problem, they should just send you a new one. That should be what you pay for with a brand like this and that's how you build a dedicated customer base, a la SVS subwoofers.

They're rated for a motor life of 50,000 hours so 5.7 years. I'm guessing you ran it 24/7 so it died only slightly early. Just kidding. This brands fans put out a ton of air and you see huge ones in warehouses that make a night and day difference but let's be honest, a fan pitch is a fan pitch and motor RPMs are motor RPMs. There's far far cheaper options on Amazon and elsewhere and this brand is a lot of marketing and their name IMO. I'm not sure their claim of better quality matches their pricing.

I only interviewed there once, fresh out of college.

But they use aviation engineers for the fan blades. That's what makes them unique - They use rocket science and avionics to design the blades.

They do industrial fans, and around here (where they're based) those fans have really good reps. A bummer that their home line struggles.
