Beware these are not 110% not water proof. If your naturally mounting outside, over the months when it rains at your location, water will get in eventually. I read reviews and seen the photos about this and still bought one, but I silicone sealed every corner and edge, still this did nothing. Water found its way in, now its still working yes, some of the spot light LED diodes have died, inside is browning, opposite side of the camera lens is fogging and blurring, nothing I can do unless I open it up, but I just replaced it with the smaller S220 (S30) until it finally gives out.

I have one of these and read about the water leakage issue on the front panel issue. I fixed this with some 3M clear tape. The 3 inch wide roll, cut a strip that will go around both sides and the top, about 8 inches of tape. Fold 1" back onto itself down the long width. That will create a drip edge and then stick the tape around the top front of the camera and along the sides making sure the sticky tape surrounds the whole front seal of the camera. This will make a lip that covers all 3 sides preventing water from getting into the front seal and it also creates an edge where water will roll off and not get on the front of the lense.

I was about to buy this yesterday multiple times as well. Thank god I was too busy trying to get other Prime Day deals Big Grin

I'm rather torn between this and the eufyCam 3, which has twice the battery capacity and four times the resolution, but the spotlight is only 100 lumens (vs 600 for the S40) and it has no local / onboard storage.

Suppose I could get both and figure out the pros & cons later, but don't want to miss the return window if the S40's HomeBase 3 integration gets pushed back.

First-world decisions, decisions....

thank you for mentioning this. I live in a very rainy area and wanted this as an outdoor camera. That won't work at all if this isn't built to withstand the elements.

Bought last year in June. Using an a gutter mount meant for other cams. Was worried the heavier weight would bring it down. However, its survived hurricanes and hail here in Florida. No visible moisture inside lens/camera yet. Has been working fine so far. Might get a second one.

Don't hold your breath for homebase compatability. They were supposed to be done last December. Same for many of their other cameras. They just kept pushing the date out as it approached

All 4 of mine have water insides and dead. After 1 year warranty, Eufy refused to do anything to them.
