Beware these are not 110% not water proof. If your naturally mounting outside, over the months when it rains at your location, water will get in eventually. I read reviews and seen the photos about this and still bought one, but I silicone sealed every corner and edge, still this did nothing. Water found its way in, now its still working yes, some of the spot light LED diodes have died, inside is browning, opposite side of the camera lens is fogging and blurring, nothing I can do unless I open it up, but I just replaced it with the smaller S220 (S30) until it finally gives out.
I have one of these and read about the water leakage issue on the front panel issue. I fixed this with some 3M clear tape. The 3 inch wide roll, cut a strip that will go around both sides and the top, about 8 inches of tape. Fold 1" back onto itself down the long width. That will create a drip edge and then stick the tape around the top front of the camera and along the sides making sure the sticky tape surrounds the whole front seal of the camera. This will make a lip that covers all 3 sides preventing water from getting into the front seal and it also creates an edge where water will roll off and not get on the front of the lense.

picture or drawing please. Hard to visualize the set up. Thank you.
3" wide 3M clear packing tape, cut a 6" to 8" piece, fold back an inch of it back on to itself so that 1" of it or so is still sticky. Adhere to the surround of the front of the camera. You might want to put a piece on the underside first to seal the bottom, make sure it doesn't stick out, then go with the folded piece over the top of the surrond.

Any reason to get this model over the less expensive s220?
I will keep S220 and not get this one because of the form factor, s220 is smaller than S230. And I hate seeing big security cameras sticking out from houses and I will use it in my backyard so don't really need a spotlight.

Thank you for your reply. Owning both version, did you notice any compromises in function "down grading?"

Is the floodlights function the biggest different between the 2 versions?

Correct. Other than the floodlight and door bell, all other battery powered Eufy cameras eventually fogged up inside the lens. It was the main reason I picked up a S220earlier this year to replace an important view. We'll see how long it lasts.

Sorry for not being clear earlier. I don't own both but I saw some YouTube videos, and compared both cameras dimensions to conclude that S220 is smaller.

yeah I watched that one too and thought smaller form factor of s220 will be better option, smaller camera look less ugly to me!

I have exactly the same one over a year now, put it outside in my backyard, so far so good, no leakage at this point, except it looks like being worn out a little bit(looks like kind of old), under rain and sunshine in hot Texas weather. The battery indeed died once when there was no sunshine for a couple of days, but it came back fine later when sun came out. Generally no complaint so far, it just does the job as expected.
