I have older versions of this camera, their app is pretty bad, not much options on setting, you cannot even schedule when to turn it on or off. For this price, it is pretty good deal for entry level if you don't request much.

Great price. This was cheaper to buy then getting 2 new cameras to add onto my current base. I may just use the new base to have the additional memory card for recording.
I tried to look but didnt see it answered, whats the max number of cameras supported by one base?

I got these the last time they were on sale. The cameras are bricks but work well.

Garbage cam for continous recording. If you need the occassional deterence buy it or else spend money for 24/7 recording its about security!. I wont buy this other then a decoy.

I keep seeing that only 4 cameras
From the question section on Amazon
One M1 base station can connect at most 4 devices, and only the included battery camera N20 and another of our door bell camera DB7 can be linked to this M1 base station. (Only N20 and DB7 can be linked to M1 base station)

The app doesn't allow you to add more cameras once you have 4. I would say that is the clear indication it only support 4 cameras.

can these store continuous live recording on sd card and no need of their cloud ? I got a cam which allowed only 20 sec max onto the sd card .
I think this is similar to the 20 sec max after the last action and up to 1 minute before a new record session has to start. So if you have constant motion, then it will be multiple 1 minute clips. There might be a slight delay between the clips also. So not ideal IMO, but you get what you paid for. If you want constant recording, I say spend the money on POE cameras and set it up and then you can record 24/7.

If I were in market for another security camera, I would check on the manufacturer. LaView claims that they are US based company on their website. But I also found an old page elsewhere that suggests its Chinese tie.
https://www.made-in-china.com/sho...ewdvrkits/

I'm Chinese myself. My concern is their national security law that allows government agency to get users data anyway they want. These companies probably want to cut their tie to China but I would wonder how much they could.
