I have older versions of this camera, their app is pretty bad, not much options on setting, you cannot even schedule when to turn it on or off. For this price, it is pretty good deal for entry level if you don't request much.

Eufy > LaView. I have both brands... laView stopped support and updates on my doorbell after a new version came out. Eufy isn't perfect but as of right now, eufy is better imo.
LOL, it is better never not to get updated.
Nowadays, for other camera apps, every update is to rip off the features to force you to subscribe the cloud service to get features back.
I am glad the LaView app still has thumbnail picture notification for local storage users ...
Other apps such as Blink, Wyze updated firmware and apps , remove features for local storage users, the basic features is for paid subscribers only, every update is a bad move

Says 4 August delivery! Charged today and will probably ship Monday!
My Swann - Fourtify 4 Camera Swann setup did work fine but the main camera died. Working warranty issues at this time.

OK up and running with significant pain which was 50% self-inflicted.

Left the LAN cable connected as there were no instructions on unplugging it and working off wifi.

Will try that later!

The APP is not my cup of tea on setup, but some may love it. When you add a camera, it may show timed out and not added in the app and secretly add it in the background.
Also, when a camera is added, the main menu does not show it at all. Only the base station. You need to open the base station icon to see the cameras.
Range is outstanding delicious and mild. However, that is with the LAN cable connected and not on a guest network.
SD card needs a deep push to get properly inserted. This is the cause of the one-star reviews online (formatted FAT 32 -32GB before installing)
Medium PIR gets a lot of messages when it sees movement. Low doesn't record anything that I can tell so far. Turn off human body filtering if you need more notifications. FW update folks for each camera.
Battery life is under test, but these cameras are a little heavy with the 4 batteries.
Should have bought 2 sets but it was a pig in a poke sack for me.

Easily added the icons for each camera on my iphone.

I am not considering these for mounting in difficult to access places as they will need to be charged. May even mount in a window or low place in a covered area.

This was a hot deal for sure!Smilie

Perfect instructions but my base station never made a connection sound nor did the base stations app process show the cameras were successfully connected.

It could be that I skipped the step the first few times on being logged into the LAVIEW WIFI and not my router WIFI??????????????????

no, it's all on the app, you can record clips or live actions directly onto your phone as well, the only thing I don't like is doesn't have the ability to snooze or disable notifications for let say 1 hour like I can do on ring or eufy. but again this is so cheap and picture quality is well worth it

Strange the APP appears in all APPs menus except SIRI notifications.

Also, the APP name is Laview Utilities as there at least 5 of these in the app store.

To those of you who bought these, do you recommend? I want to set some out in the yard to record animal activity at night. Are they up for the task? Battery life decent?

For recording activity of people on your property, etc they seem like a decent option, given the low price. However, I don't think that they'd be great for recording small animal activity unless they got quite close. Maybe OK for larger animals. On the plus side, the battery life seems pretty great from what I've seen. I've had two of them on my porch for about a week and they still show about 90% battery remaining. Of course, that great battery life seems to come at the expense of not being extremely sensitive. I get the impression that they only trigger when a substantial IR heat source like a person comes into frame. Also on the upside, that has eliminated a number of random false alerts that my old camera tended to get a lot of with sun casting shadows, bike cover flapping, etc. I've had mine in standard "motion detection" mode for all testing so far, not "human detection". However, during the first few days of testing, I noticed that it missed picking me up returning home at one point. (I saw myself exiting on two back to back clips upon review, so it didn't catch me returning home in between.). Since then, I bumped the PIR sensitivity up from medium to high and haven't noticed that happen again. Also, at one point, the camera tipped over and it was still functioning fine, but there was no recording of that action, which obviously changed the picture completely. It could have been a glitch related to the fall, but I get the idea that one of the ways it's so efficient with battery life is that the camera essentially stays off until the motion sensor picks up someone approaching. At least that's the impression I get based on observations so far. During another test, I placed the camera just inside a glass patio door (about two feet from the door, looking out at a slight angle). A delivery person came up and left a package and stood right in front of the camera (on the other side of the glass door) at one point, but it didn't record anything. Again, I'm guessing that the glass was enough of a barrier so the motion detector wasn't triggered. I like the idea of not having a bunch of false alerts with this one, but I also feel better having my old camera still out there recording as a backup, knowing that it seems to be more sensitive to picking up any little motion, I've also had some glitchy things at times, where the interface seems to lose connection and take a while to come back online when playing around with it in testing. Kind of annoying, but one of those things that can happen with cheaper systems like this. I got the impression it was an issue with me losing connection to the base rather than the whole system going down, because the recordings still seemed to go through upon review.

Also, if you place this in moderately low-light conditions, you may want to try turning off the IR light. I did that at one point when trying it around the cars outside (near a street light) and the picture looked much better with IR off. Nice clear and colorful even in fairly dim light. Obviously, that won't work in total darkness, but something to try if there's at least some light around.

Update! PIR and IR do not work through modern windows. Evidently the glass and argon gas blocks movement tracking.

Have 4 cameras up and running. Person detections works very nice to keep down false alerts.

Almost tempted to buy a 3rd set!laugh out loudLMAO

BTW do not mount these inside on a window and turn on IR at night as the reflection kills everything. It will work fine at night without IR if the outside has some lighting.

Still running off my main node with a LAN cable (4 nodes total). Too chicken to go wireless as it is actually working fine.

BTW when linking a camera slow blinking red light is what you are looking for, not fast blinking red light.
