I can't decide between this and the G15 for $100 less. I know the G15 is well-built and has many positive reviews, but I haven't heard anything about the build quality for the X16. Anyone have any experience with it?

When I see overpriced 30 series I will just downvote it. Those who upvote it without leaving any comments are fake robot to me.
Overpriced 30 series? If you think this laptop is overpriced with those specs, you're out of touch with reality. The last sentence in your post is further evidence of this.

The Best Buy near me had this right next to the 2022 M16, G15, and G14 and the display on this is amazing compared to the others. It's not even the mini-LED model and it was night and day when comparing them all. It's brighter, crisper, and just pops a lot more. I haven't seen any complaints about the new 3 fan system in this and the ability to play games in tent mode helps thermals even more. I found the build quality a lot nicer than the G15. I still think the main selling points for this are the display and the convertible design. It's just a nicer laptop overall.

I'm actually surprised to hear that. I assumed the panels were the same (minus the touch layer) since the panel specs were basically identical.

Yes it is overpriced. Every seller working with Nvidia and trying to sell shits to customers will make you think its reasonable.
Why is 4060 priced high without much improvement?
Because they still want to sell overstocked 3060 to you with a more profitable price.
You can go ahead and purchase this one. Show your proof to convince others it is a slick deal.

The displays on the QHD G14, G15, and M16's are more similar to each other, with the G15 only being 300 Nits (which is "normal") and the M16 and G14 being brighter at 500 Nits. This X16 is also 500 Nits, but yea the display is much nicer and I was immediately drawn to it while looking at them all side-by-side. It was also released later than the others and is basically a larger Flow X13 as opposed to being in the same Zephyrus line as the M16, G15, and G14.
About the only reason to justify this price point for a 3060 machine at this juncture is the screen. That is a unique attribute (1600p touch) among gaming PCs. But if you do not need this screen, then the value of this machine becomes questionable.

I picked this up last week and just price matched to this deal. Its a great laptop. the screen is nice, but could have a wider viewing angle IMO. The trackpad is really large and a lot better than those gaming laptops too. I had a g14 and was unhappy with the thermals and form factor, its uncomfortable on the lap because of the hinge. this fixes all those gripes i had with the zepherys G14 and adds a touchscreen and 2 2280 m.2 plus two dimm upgradable slots.
Ive been playing diablo at native res on high with 70 fps easily. It gets hot AF gaming but thats expected
I'm pretty sure im going to keep it, although im still deciding if i will game enough on it to justify the heft and size, or if i should go back to the lenovo slim pro x with the 3050.
I've been playing through Hogwarts legacy at native on high and it's silky smooth. Build quality and screen are excellent. Supports 3rd party 100W usb c charging. Touchscreen. Checked a lot of boxes for me and I'm very happy, it's fairly unique among gaming laptops.
Also, while I don't make use of the tablet mode as it's awfully big to hold as a tablet, I think the tent mode is fantastic for controller gaming, which justifies the convertible form factor for my needs.
