Yeah, that's for the version without the heatsink.

You can always get a heatsink for around $10, but it's one more thing to install and can void the warranty.

I just put one of these in one of those Asus Zenbook 14x laptops that have popped up in a couple deals recently. It fits just fine and works great! I need to do another pass at benchmarks now that I'm done installing drivers, but this was my last pass (well, technically 5 pass average):

As an Xbox owner.. I am sad I can't use these…

You can put it in an enclosure and plug in via USB.

It won't run the Series S/X specific games, but will run the Xbox One games with faster load times.

You can also store the newer games to quickly transfer back over to the internal drive for play.

It sucks we can't directly play current games from NVMe drives like Sony allows, but it is a nice boost in speed in an enclosure.

Do folks have a recommendation for an external enclosure that will support this NVMe?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Not too sure about that. Just got mine in about a week.
I noticed that for the last three items I ordered on Amazon. It says, it has to be backordered give me a four week out delivery date, then I get an email, saying it is arriving sooner than expected.

Anyone received theirs yet? If so, when did you ordered?

I ordered from WD on the 16th and still waiting for it.

I have an Inspiron 5402. It has 2 NVME slots. I am looking for a NVME for slot 2. Will this be an option for me considering it is with heat sink and will be a bit thick?

You do need heatsink, since it runs very hot. I have two 2TB, one with sink I bought last year, one with heat sink (I use the heat sink come with MB for it), both of them run at over 60C.
Its the heatsink so bulky that it is a problem for the motherboard? Am using this for a Lenovo business class Desktop (regular size casing not small form factor).

Are you saying the heatsink version will still fit most enclosures?

The heat sink comes with the M2 is 5mm height, it could cause problem for laptop, but for desktop, it should not be a problem.
