I think this deal makes more sense if you have two separate usages where one good quality 10" would be enough for each room, maybe split an order with a buddy or a "regular" person being happy with a living room and basement pair in one shot. But then you've still got a lot of options to consider around $400 per sub.
A room big enough to need a pair of 10" subs would likely be better suited to larger subs to start. It's not like these are a compact 10" model or anything like that. Once you are ok with big boxes in the room you might as well go all in with larger drivers.
All in all subs are always a tough choice. I just struggle thinking where two of these at $800 would be the best choice for one room.

For an alternative RSL has blemished Speedwoofer 10S MKIIs in white available for $399. It let me add a pair to my cart and no tax in GA. I emailed about these and these are factory cosmetic blemished not returns. Final sale no returns but carry the full warranty.

The wireless option for $50 extra seems nice. I ordered one in black and I should have it Friday.

Not trying to be argumentative or cause any arguments. Just spreading awareness of the issues.
By the way I have also owned a Monolith 7X amp for 3 years and no issues there either
I am speculating as I dont have any figures to share...but I would say that Monoprice has sold a LOT of subs and separate amplifiers.
The price to performance ratio is off the charts
By the way..and I am sure you know...there are a lot of people on AVS forum that have had similar experiences as I have with owning multiple Monoprice pieces and no issues.
Am I receiving the level customer service I receive from Arcam?..NO..But I didnt expect it either and frankly its " good enough" for the price to performance ratio for simplicity of the product
That was my point earlier. There is a LOT of heasay
For instance..where would someone come up with the idea that they bought a "new" sub and it was not new
Frankly..I have bought two open box ones and I could not tell one of them was not new..and the other had a small 1/2" mar in the finish.
For half price and sitting in a dark corner, I was good
If it's a blind buy , you can't go wrong with either both are good brands.

I have done a lot of research, before and I after I bought them from actual owners
I am not the only one
I am quite certain there are issues...but for some reason the hearsay is pretty ridiculous on these subs
All four of mine are V1 by the way. The V2 had not even come out when I purchased the first three units
As far as after sales support I have had much worse. with.Samsung...about the same with Denon/Marantz and a much better level from Arcam
Before I bought any Monolith subwoofer or amp I spent a significant amount of time reaching out to actual owners on AVS forum
Were there some issues?...sure
But not anywhere close to all the heasay that one can see posted here and elsewhere
Thats my point
As I stated before...I have no idea how many have been sold so I really cant speak to a failure rate with anything but speculation. As you can probably tell I dont really care to specualte when its not necessary.
To use a perfect example from SD...people complain in every Hisense and TCL TV thread about failed product
If their situations are true...people still seem to be very interested in those brands
I have a suspicion that a power surge is what caused the amp to go bad. I placed the new one on a true one-outlet surge protector I bought from amazon (not a power strip which claims to surge protect) and I haven't had any issues yet even with going through a couple power outages. Here's to hoping it stays that way. I believe I read somewhere that some of these plate amps don't have proper protection built in and causes some components to go bad.
That being said, I love these subs. Super powerful for the price.
