I already found the answer in the manual, so yes, the brick will work 110-220v AC.
Totally want one, cannot stomach the price though. Also kinda lame it comes with a giant 65w wall wort when it supports 100w PD in and out supposedly. Neat that you can run a USB-C laptop off of it, but not 80 bucks neat IMHO.
They only sell as a kit. Any high output USB C charger should work. I think it's rated for 100 watt, but not positive. I've never used mine to charge a dewalt battery yet, just to power and charge usb devices. I keep the whole set with my Bluetooth speaker. I can charge it with the wall charger and keep it powered with the dewalt battery when I'm outside away from power. Can charge phone at the same time off the dewalt battery since the adapter has the secondary legacy USB socket. I still need to test if it will charge my laptop. It is so much better having a usb charger that can run off dewalt batteries. The common power banks tend to be a slim profile, which is nice. Problem is when you run those down, that's it until you can charge it. If I need power for a week, with this dewalt unit, I just need to take some extra batteries or one flexvolt battery. Could probably run this for a month off of a 15ah flexvolt battery.

I'd be really impressed if there's a $12 equivalent to this. Usb-c power either direction at 100 watts.

Working with 12 or 20 volt dewalt batteries and full protection circuit to keep the dewalt battery from over discharging and keep the output voltage and current correct to protect the device connected.

When the battery cost 50-100 each and the smart phone plugged in cost 500-1500, might be cheap insurance to get the genuine one. If Aukey or some other reputable company made one of these for less, I may trust it. Guaranteed it would be more than 12 bucks though.

Is Jbtools an authorized Dewalt dealer? I wonder if it would have any warranty?

IIRC discharge protection is built into the battery.

The only thing tool chargers do is monitor the temperature as they charge.

All modern tools could/should have a usb-c charging port built into the battery. Even cheap BMS boards have temp monitoring.

Not the case for Dewalt, they have an NTC probe wired out to the contacts and a resistor to ID the pack and that's about it. No BMS/minimum voltage/temp protection built in, it's all in the tools and chargers. Here's a teardown for reference: https://www.sevarg.net/2017/04/22...-teardown/

Be careful with the knock off ones, they have no protection and can drain the battery pack cells too low and damage your pack.

I have a USB A knock off of the older Dewalt usb charger. It includes a light the OEM adapter does not have. In addition to the over discharge problem, it also has a phantom drain: if it's left on a battery off it will drain it and with no protection it could over drain it too. I labeled the usb adapter so I always remember to remove it after use.

In the market for the OEM Dewalt USB C model like this but even at this price I am on the fence. If there was a knock off with a protection circuit, no phantom drain, and USB C for a reasonable price I would probably jump on it.

The only downside...the battery discharges if you don't remove the device you powered after it gets full.

Prior dewalt usb adapters had the issue of running the battery down to a level where would no longer charge (i know there are ways to jump these). The smart low power cut off circuitry was in the tool, not the battery. Do you know if this has any kind to low power cut off so you don't destroy the battery?

This paired with a cheaper 100watt car charger is what I was thinking but that's a big investment for car charging

This really got me thinking. My wife works on the deck pretty often with a laptop and secondary screen. We have a power pack but it barely lasts two hours. If I could use my pair of DeWalt 4Ah batteries to keep her laptop happy she wouldn't have to plug in all day. Or buy a single 9ah flexvolt and do the same.

$70 is a lot but might be worth it.

Wish I could get just the adapter. No need for the cable or the brick.
