USB 4.0 is great. HDMI2.0b is also great hard to find.
I think it has one open memory slot so should be easy to upgrade to 16GB.

This laptop is from the previous generation that has only upto USB3.2 official support. Unlike Intel and Apple, AMD has been late to the USB4 + TB game. I think it is a typo....

Thunderbolt 4 is basically a guarantee that you are getting the best version of USB4. While USB4 offers the same 40Gbps speed as Thunderbolt 4, there is also a slower 20Gbps version of USB4. Thunderbolt 4 also guarantees you can run a pair of 4K displays at minimum and transfer data at up to 32Gbps. With USB4, you are guaranteed only the minimums of running a single display and a 16Gbps data rate. A USB4 hub also lacks the mandatory charging and wake-from-sleep requirements of Thunderbolt 4, as well as the 10Gbps networking. "
So this is superior to some USB 4 ports. New technology and seems difficult to understand. The article you posted said it also needed support on the motherboard so perhaps the motherboard will allow USB 4 on the 5000 series.

Now full USB 4 allows logos on the laptop. So there is that. But I would make sure a USB4 machine had Thunderbolt 4.
