The $300 ASUS CB CM34 is a better choice for someone looking for a 2-in-1, with newer and faster processor, better and brighter 300nits display, 2 years later AUE and lower price!

Thank you for comment. Howerver. it is hard to say that 7320C is faster or newer. Do not convince yourself that one display is better than the other while manufactures reluctant to provide any details. If you genuinely care about 50 nits or condition of the device in 2031, visit BB and put your hands on those chromebooks before you make final decision.

The facts are:

HP Chromebook X360
$349
14" FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9, 250 nits, 45% NTSC
AUE June 2028
Intel Core i3-1115G4: Launch Date Q3'20, 2C/4T, Single/Multi Thread Passmark: 26xx/62xx

ASUS Chromebook CM34 Flip
$299
14" FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 16:10, 300nits, 45% NTSC
AUE June 2030
AMD Ryzen 3 7320C: Launch Date Q2'22, 4C/8T, Single/Multi Thread Passmark: 25xx/93xx

We may ignore these facts, but these matter when when make comparison. Could you please find me some good reasons why we should pay more for something look to be inferior? Thanks.

The really better thing I find in the HP is the front-facing speakers....

I do not think you can run Passmark on them, and even your facts agree that x360 is faster in single core. Zen 2 (launch date July 2019) is pretty old, older than Ice Lake, let alone Tiger Lake.

If all you care about is brightness, go to BB store and pick the brighter one, that is a more reliable measure. You may find other significant differences along the way.

I am not selling you anything, nor I am convincing you one is better than the other. I am replying so people do not got misled by some of your opinions disguised as facts.

You ignored the following facts:
x360 has
  1. Fingerprint reader
  2. Privacy switch
  3. Corning Gorilla 5 Glass
  4. Backlit keyboard
the other one has:
  1. HDMI
  2. ErgoLift design
Don't you think these matter?

VS also has the Ryzen faster 54 vs 50 pts. plus it has HDMI 21 and USB 3.2 v2. USB C charging. It most likely has thunderbolt as well. The Display has more pixels as well 1200P.

I agree if you want the fingerprint reader the HP might make sense and the Gorilla 5 glass.

They both equip with a retractable privay shutter for the cam, but ASUS cam has a higher resolution (1080Pvs 720P). Both actually have backlit keyboard. (BB product information is not completely correct as always).

HP x360 is also more portable with a slightly smaller battery (58Wh vs 63Wh), but ASUS might have a stronger build with US MIL-STD 810H military-grade standard compliant.

Obviously, they are not identical, but we are here to make choices based on the needs and differences. The original $699 MSRP of HP x360 is absolutely nonsense for the specs.

Thank you for comment. Please do not imply that x360 does not have USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C for charging, it has two of them. None of these Chromebooks have Thunderbolt, not even close.

Be very careful with Victoria's Secret, if you look closely, you will find that it actually tells you 1115G4 has higher performance than 7320C (25/17=147%).

Privacy switch is a different elaborated solution, baked into a lot of high end HP laptops. I do not appreciate until I use it. When do we pick camera by its resolution? Go try it. I bet you did not go BB store today and you are here to make choices.

I've never seen a poster so ardently defend a non deal. It's something to watch.

It's a Chromebook and it's nearly $400. That seals it folks.
