If you're not buying this for looks, the 18" Harbor Freight magnetic bar is currently $1.99@ ITC early access parking lot sale. They're great. We have a few.
I got TWO from Ikea forever ago. I mounted them parallel with one about 2 inches above the other. It it works great and looks good, too IMHO
Word of caution, though: With a metal bar like these, place your knives spine first to make sure you don't chip your blades. This is especially important if you have harder, high-carbon steel blades.
This. I have the harbor freight ones in the garage for tools, etc, and one in the kitchen for knives.
Also if you don't want to drill into your backsplash, mine works just fine attached with two command strips.

I use the 12" version of this on my grill to hold utensils while cooking. It is great and so much better than the built in hooks. I've never had any issues. Strong magnet.

Highly recommend.
Interesting idea. Where (and how) did you mount it on your grill?

It is magnetic on the back as well so that it can stick to their wall mounting plate.
Because of this, I was able to just stick it on the front of the metal side shelf of my grill.
You can really stick it anywhere though since it also includes the mounting plate with 3M style outdoor mounting tape. As long as the area does not get hot to melt the glue, you should be fine.
I came here to say that the Harbor Freight may be black but they work beautifully. For under $2 (and sometimes with coupon, free) they work as intended.
I have this one with a wood cover if you like that look. looks like there is a coupon for it too.. so sameish price

LOL got this exact one, Ordered on March 11, 2018 for $12.84
Who wants to calculate inflation to see if this is a good deal =P
$12.84 in March 2018 is equal to $15.73 in July 2023. So you are better off getting in your time machine and going back to 2018 if you want to buy one. https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpic...ar2=202307

Na, I'd go in my time machine and go forward in time instead, might be faster that way =P.
