- Gets a bit hot and fan can get audible during stuff like games (I use an eGPU), but expected for an i7-13700h chip
- For my general use case the battery lasts ~6 hours watching a lot of videos at 80% brightness
- Commonly used ports like the charger and headphone jack are on the right hand side

With all that being said and mostly known going into purchasing this on last sale - I think this laptop is excellent at this price point. The screen alone should be a huge factor as it is such an incredibly nice panel to watch media on on top of its <1ms response and 120hz refresh that should auto switches to 60hz on battery. Keyboard feels great and touch screen is pretty good to use with a stylus pen when the screen can open at the 180 degree mark so the whole laptop goes flat. Integrated graphics works decent for old or lightweight games. You get a hella strong CPU at this range as well. All in all I recommend finding a store that has it on display as the web page will tell you where in your area and you got the 14 day return window, too.

B) Runs warm since it's a 13700h..
C) Battery life is around 6-10 hours depending on use maybe less.
D) Cinebench r23 multi 10min is around 11-13k plugged in.
E) Both USB-C ports are thunderbolt and can charge the computer.
F) League of Legends got around 110-130fps (set in game to 1080p I believe), and of course expect the fans to get loud though.
It's all around a GREAT laptop, but I'm on the fence about returning it due to the grainy effect alone. It's a known issue with OLED touch screens for Asus (at least that i know of).
I had tried the previous gen 1240p Zenbook 14x OLED non-touch and can confirm that it did not have the grainy look.
Most people don't seem to notice or have an issue with it otherwise it'd be mentioned more. However, it might also explain the amount of open boxes there were.

EDIT#2 8/21/23: Regarding Warranty
After talking with two Best Buy reps on the phone and one ASUS rep here's what they told me:
A)
Best Buy by default gives a 1 year warranty to all open box items which covers everything the manufacturer warranty does.
If it does have an active manufacturer warranty, you'll have to go through the manufacturer first and if it "times" out first then Best Buy will cover it until the 1 year period.
Best buy reps then confirmed that they saw my open box Zenbook in the system being covered for 1 year by Best Buy.
B)
ASUS USA rep confirmed with me that any open-box ASUS laptop purchased from Best Buy only will have only a 90 day warranty from ASUS regardless of what date the MyAsus App tells you.
I would encourage anyone who's worried to double check their Best Buy warranty status with a CS agent and get a reference# or Case ID# in the event something happens.

I try to to avoid OLED since there is a lot of protection and dos and don'ts with it. And the linux compatibility is affected as well since no driver to drive the OLED correctly

I doubt the M1 can match the Asus OLED screen. and it's 120hz
Well. I say, buy it at Best Buy and use it for a week. then return it if you're not happy with the battery life (14 day return window). I am going to use this on the field for astrophotography and the resolution is high with 120hz so the battery life supposedly can be extended to nearly 10 hours by being on 60hz while on battery and unplugged. I've been browsing reviews on this and it looks to be around 9+ hours if you really want to stretch it and lower screen brightness and run at 60Hz. Does the Macbook have a port for hooking up a battery to run it longer? USB-C and PD charging is kind of standard that you can just hook up an external cellphone/tablet battery hooked up on USB-C if the battery isn't enough on a trip or outing.
With the ASUS compare to the m1
You get a larger SSD drive
More RAM
Better screen OLED and refresh rate.
Modern CPU.

Also, check your facts before making false statements. Like I said earlier on another comment, this has been $699 just once before. Doesn't make it "a couple of times".
