Dang. It's always Costco with deals.
*Cries in sams club membership*

Edit: Wohoo!! I managed to get best buy to price match it. It took 3-4 hours chatting with different representatives until one finally budged and gave me the price match of $512! Funny thing is I almost gave up before the last rep said they'd match it. Out of stock in my local town so I drove an hour away to a neighbor state to pick it up. My advice to anyone: keep asking new best buy chat reps. Don't get discouraged. Persistence is key. Good luck!

I bought the 55" in NJ couple of days back and they adjusted the price for me.
Was the TV showing in stock on the sameday.costco page and was the $599 price reflected? I checked every store within driving distance and only 1 showed availability as of early labor day morning, but the price was still $1000+. I checked again a few hours later and it was out of stock even though the store was closed.

No. They don't have it in stock. I did it in Wharton, NJ. Told them that I bought it couple of days before and the price went down. They just looked at the price and gave me the refund.

Just left Wharton and got mine adjusted to $599 as well. There's a good chance that the people at the return desks don't care if it's in stock or not, they just see the reduced price and issue the refund.

My store shows out of stock, but the admin rep says they have 5 in stock, but at $999.97. Anyway to negotiate with Costco to get the better price?

Little Rock store had two at $599. Grabbed one! Wow. Can't believe I managed to find one. Also came with the extended 5-year Allstate warranty. Major score. Thanks to whoever informed us about the in-store price drop on Labor Day!!!

Wayne and New Brunswick in NJ has 1 display unit each for 499 (599 wt 100 off) as of 4 pm. I can no longer see inventory for this product on the same day website (especially in NJ).

On a separate note, below is my price adjustment experience at Costco today.

I purchased the C2 55" for 899.97 on August 8th. Considering I'm still under 30 days, I checked with the Hazlet store and they no longer have this product in stock. I accidentally found the display unit marked down at New Brunswick while strolling in the TV isle. So, I went to the registers to confirm the price and request a price adjustment.

Associate by the checkout register looked up the product by item code and confirmed 499 (599 with 100 off). Awesome! Next, I head to the returns desk to request the adjustment. The returns desk associate was playing games on the phone, so I must have been disturbing the quiet time. Now, associate pulls up the price and says the lower price is 599 (not 499). I attempted at patiently explaining this person about the 100 off that should bring the final price to 499 and my attempt fell on deaf ears. 10 more minutes of back and forth later, I gave up and agreed to 599.

Next up, associate asked me about where did I see the sign for this lower price in the warehouse (seriously?). In order to confirm, this associate and supervisor are off to the TV isle so they can find the sign (ignoring ther price that was showing up on screen in front of them). After 5 more minutes of waiting, associate is back after confirming the signage for this lower price.

Now this is where I started to question the intent of this associate's level of support to process this request. Associate suddenly noticed that I purchased the TV at a different Costco store. Now, the associate is adamant that Costco stores dont price match between 2 stores. (What? This was news to me. I looked up the policy and definitely learnt something new today). So, having gone back and forth for close to 20 minutes, associate is annoyed and recommends that I return my original TV and buy the display unit for 599 to get the discount. I requested to speak with the supervisor (this person was not interested to be part of this discussion). When the supervisor bounced out of the situation, I requested to speak with the store manager. Store manager came in; associate explained the scenario; manager asked if the purchase under 30 days - obviously it was under. Next, the manager turns his back to me and blocking my view of the associate, only to whispers a few details (I could still hear the associate protesting). Manager agreed to price adjust the item to 599 (associate is visibly frustrated with the outcome and reluctantly starts hammering away at the register keys). I thanked the manager and associate for their consideration and support. For the next 15 minutes, I had to scan my membership 7 times for the associate to finally and unhappily apply the price adjustment.

Overall, I appreciate the manager's discretion to process this request as an exception. I hope this helps folks who are visiting Costco warehouses for price adjustment requests.

I purchased the last one at my local costco back on 8/28 when it was 999.97, believing that the price would be dropped to 599 on September 4th. So today I went back with the TV and asked for a price adjustment after confirming that the price did indeed drop to 599, they said that there were none on the floor so they could not do a price adjustment. I asked if I can return it and re-purchase, so ended up just doing that. It was a hassle bringing the TV back in for a return and then going through check out again, but completely worth it for the $400 off.

So if your store still has it for $999 it might be worth purchasing it and then checking the price every so often within the return period to see if it drops. Worst case scenario is you end up returning it before the 90 days are up.

I had a hard time even getting them to let me return and rebuy. They stated it doesn't go back on floor for sale, it would be sent back to the distribute even if it wasn't open so I ended up just returning it

You got greedy trying to price match the display, Lol. Just kidding. what this thread is teaching us is that every Costco is it's own animal when it comes to unique circumstances and YMMV totally depends on who's working, which department you contact, someone's mood, and/or how much they care. I got my price adjustment from a different Costco than where I bought the tv and had no problems at all. I had no idea you had to do it at the same store of the purchase until you posted this comment. The returns associates just looked up the new price and sent the difference, including tax, back to my card. Now I did buy the display model for $800 last week (I negotiated the manager down from $900–$800 was $200 off the then $999 price) so technically I should have been looking for $100 or more off the $599 as well. But given how many people here commented that they would only price adjust if the item was in stock at that specific store, I just wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible.

I have been following the stock of the 55" C2's in the Marlboro NJ store. I watched the stock dwindle at the $997 price. They wouldn't budge on the price until all the boxed units were sold. It actually took a week to sell about 7 units. Called yesterday morning and was told the TV was sold out, I asked about the floor model and it was still available but at the $997 price. I returned to the store and spoke to the manager. He said he would check his system and figure out the cost of the display unit. I was expecting the $599 price but the manager came back with $499. The extended warranty was not included but I purchased it for $35. Came home and set it up. The TV does seem to work perfectly but I was shocked to see that it had 5450 hours on it. That is a lot of usage. Ran the OLED display videos that are on Youtube and the picture does seem perfect, no burn in or stuck pixels. Not the best deal, but its decent and I do have a 5 year warranty so I'm happy.

I found a store near me with two 55" C2's for $999, is there anyway for me to get it for the $5-600 price?

….HOURS on the phone (?!?), driving an hour away (potential accidents, gas, wear/tear, personal time), when you add that all up , you paid way more than $512.

I don't mean to shame, but devaluing your own time is not being thrifty….it's a different word

I feel like a $50 yearly membership would simply be smarter/thriftier? Plus, the gas at Sams is not the same as Costco, so save your car as well.

A. Hours on Chat while using the computer doing other things.
B. Driving an hour is not that big of a deal, especially when I had family to visit 5 minutes away from the Best Buy
C. I don't buy gas from Sams Club.
D. Local Costco had it full price, out of stock on Delivery site.

I'd still call it pretty thrifty, all points considered.
