This model should have 2 ram slots, easy and cheaper to upgrade yourself.

8GB of VRAM....
The ram can easily be upgraded.
Yeah, so I want to pay $750 for a 4050 than still have to pay to upgrade my own ram, yeah definitely not worth it. This laptop should be closer to the $600 mark right now to even be considered a deal. With 4070s already starting to hit the $1000 mark to pay $750 for something that doesn't at least have a 4060 is a waste, especially if it runs like a turd out of the box and you have to still upgrade it before its usable for the one purpose its advertised aka Gaming...

Why are you focus on the 4050? The 7840HS is the reason this is a deal. The gaming part is a plus. CPU is a beat and you obviosuly don't knwo much about pc/laptop so why are you wasting ppl time.
Also, ram is dirt cheap these day....

Cause you really need a beast processor to be bottle necked by a 4050 if your intention is gaming...
For $750? What else are you expecting?
4050 is as good as 3060 which is perfectly fine for 1080p gaming.

That deal is from the other month so the ship has sailed on it. It does show that prices are coming down on laptops and there have been other 4070's since than at the $1100 mark.

A lot more than this, minimum a 4060 or bust, the CPU means little if your buying this for gaming cause even a older CPU can run a 4050 at max without an issue. So the "BEAST" Cpu is nothing but a gimmick in this configuration built on top of other subpar components.

12 gen i7 with ddr4. That's why it was 1k. It was a good deal but you are buying old cpu tech.

Old tech that will always run circles around this laptop no matter how you try to upgrade it, it will never out game the "old tech" cause its that bad and not even close when it comes to FPS capabilities. Lol the funniest part is that old tech would last a person a lot longer than this "new tech" if the purpose is gaming.

Other than that one Asus TUF that was $1000 for a minute at Best Buy, what other 4070 laptops are trending $1000? I'm seeing the deals for 4060 laptops just barely dipping under $1000 right now.

I'd say the big drawbacks of this are:
  1. The m.2 slots. It has 2, but one is only 2242
  2. The low-color gamut display. Though unlike the last few years' "fast, but crappy" displays, the brightness is actually good. I'm using a good 144hz 300nit display that's a few years old, and it's smooth. The non-super-premium displays seem to be 165hz, is there much difference?
  3. 6gb vram - will this impact frame generation at its native 1080p resolution in the future?
