Despite the naysayers, getting a decent-sized TV for $80. is a good thing. Wouldn't let me rep you.
It's a 32 inch screen. Your description of the difference is overblown in my opinion. If it were bigger, like 50+, I'd be more inclined to agree. Not to say there isn't a difference at 32, but I think for a spare room or something with casual use, it'd be fine.
What do you guys think of this for a guestroom?

any idea if this would be a good 2nd monitor for work connected to laptop?

or would it flicker and be all giberishish and clobberclad.
I used an older LG 720p for a work monitor and it works fine.

I have this tv and for the money, it's fine. Just for fun, I hooked up my 4k Sony blu-ray player to it and put in the remastered The Ten Commandments movie in 4k to it. Was pleasantly surprised how nice the picture looked.

For 80 bucks it's just fine for what it is.

Would this be less during Black Friday?

It will be same, Black Friday doesn't effect the size of the TV.

720P for a 32 inch is pushing it. This is well into 1080P territory to get a good picture. 4K is way overkill for a 32 inch unless using it as a monitor and therefore you are sitting really close.

Yes, antiquated technology, perfect for small to mid-size colonies.

I would definitely avoid this as a monitor. It most likely cannot display proper chroma 4:4:4 for clear text so that will be blurry plus 720p means your windows and programs will be able to show less information as you have less pixels to work with. Plus you will naturally be sitting closer to this than if you are using it as a tv so low pixel density will be very noticeable. Better to pick up a cheap 1080p 24-27" monitor from Goodwill or fb marketplace for 15$ than get this new.

All the negative comments smh…these tvs are great for kids rooms! Kids don't care how sharp the picture is or the contrast ratio. They just wanna watch their shows/movies and it's a sigh of relief knowing it's only 80 bucks if it breaks.

It's very hard go back to 720 after having real 4k. You WILL notice how bad it is. At $80 it won't feel that bad, but I used to think back in 2012 that my 720p LED tv was the best thing ever. Now I can unsee the inferior quality.

Agree 100%. Plus, it can improve their math skills, because they can actually count the pixels. Win/win!

I've had this TV for about a year as a garage TV. It was cheap, so won't be worried if it doesn't last long in the dusty garage environment. It has a decent picture and sound. It's not very powerful and a bit buggy, so sometimes the menus freeze or don't work quickly.

The biggest issue I have is that I intended to use it as an actual TV using OTA reception. Unlike traditional TVs, it uses an "app" for TV reception just like a streaming server. That's a bit of a nuisance since it massively delays watching, i.e. you have to wait for everything to startup before watching. The worst part is that the guide often locks up or randomly shuts down and returns to the main menu while watching a program. My Samsung TV's work like a traditional TV for OTA and simply allow selection of the input and no app is active such that it works well.

at 32" as a bedroom TV can you even tell the difference between 720p/1080p/1440p/4k?

I don't think 32 720 is good for monitor. The resolution won't be for enough. And I'm far from a resolution snob

If you are watching regular TV it's fine. But if using Blu-ray you'd be missing out
