Open the way, here I come. I have coway 200m for a year and got two c545 last week. The differences:
-coway has larger surface area filter and bigger everything. Moves more air, even though they are both rated 360 sq feet.
-coway is less loud, even at peak loudness. Winix has too much wind noise if using high settings.
-winix comes with 2 hepa + 8 smoke filters. Coway comes with 1 hepa + 2 smoke (winix comes with two years worth of filters, coway just one year, per their user manuals)
-winix has wifi, app and alexa/google integration. App is useful to create schedules without visiting its room and pressing buttons. Didn't bother alexaing it.
-people online say it is harder to find aftermarket filters for winix c545 because it is costco exclusive. 5500-2 has more filter options, coway 200m is also a more popular model and shares filters with other coway purifiers so I assume it has more options too, so maybe get another c545 after two years?
-light on coway can be turned off, could not figure out for winix. So, coway is in our bedroom.
-both has ionizers (gets particles to stick to filter better), winix claims its ozone generation (side effect of running it) is less than noticeable level, but coway sometimes gives headaches to my wife so I never use it.
Overall, winix is less upfront cost, less operating cost up to two years, but becomes more expensive after 5. Has more functions but louder. Can't go wrong with either. Anyway, need to buy some now, if you'll excuse me.
Note: I got the coway for $130 (last year walmart deal) and winixes $100 each. $130 is the lowest I saw so far.

The 200M and the AP-1512HH are functionally identical; just the aesthetic of the grill is different. I have both.

My 1st two questions about every air purifier are how much do replacement filters for the unit cost and how often do you need to replace them?

Thanks.

Any preference between this and the $100 Costco winix

The coway-branded 1-year replacement kit (2 odor filters, 1 HEPA filter) is about $40. Not too bad. My Dyson replacement costs twice that much unless on sale, and with daily use, I'm lucky to get a year out of it. If this wasn't missing some key functionality I want/need (app, ability to swivel) I'd probably be booting the Dyson to a lesser-used room...

I have the exact same question
This guy does pretty good reviews (check out his YouTube video reviewing both the Coway and Winix [youtube.com]).

Does the Coway turn back on after a power outage? The Winix I have does not and I find that annoying, especially since it doubles as a white noise for sleeping

Does the Coway 400 cover a 1400 sqft home with 4 bedrooms very well? Or should I get these smaller ones for each bedroom and living room?
It definitely moves a lot of air so it may work, but I have cats so I went with that one for the common areas which were probably half that and then smaller ones for each bedroom.

I have 3 Winixs and one Coway. To be honest, I trust the Coway more. If you spray hair spray 10 feet away the Coway will pick it up in the air lol. I think you can get away by changing the filter once a year with the Coway as well.

Most people can log into consumer reports through their local library and see a review of many different air purifiers. Generally, these Coway filters do well on their High Settings and only fair on the low settings. But this is true for most units in this price range.
