I am confused, this is clearly made for Apple devices with MagSafe. It won't work correctly for your Pixel. Seems like you bought the wrong product and are mad that it didn't work for you.

its because the kickstand was intended to be used with a magsafe iphone. you dont have any magnets that will hold on to your phone. thats why its tipping over.

Does anyone know if using a 20w usb c charger would still work to charge the phone using this wireless/magsafe device? For the use case I am looking at, fast charging doesn't matter. I'm trying to see if it will still charge but at a lower rate. thanks.

Also, would PPS capable charger be recommended for this? thanks

Wow these are massively overpriced. They sell these all day long at Alixpre$$ in the $2 deal section. I bought a few packs of 3 to keep around the house, and they all work great.
Link please

There's conflicting information on Amazon, but it would appear that in order to get an iPhone's full 15w MagSafe charging speed you need to use a 27w or 30w power adapter. Using the standard Apple 20w adapter would limit the iPhone's charging speed to only 7.5w.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking would happen. For the use case I am thinking about (overnight charging) I think it is the better option since slow charging generates less hear and would not result in potential damage over time.

thanks

What's interesting is the power supply Belkin includes in the bundle is 27W, but on their website it states:

"Requires 20W or higher USB-C® power adapter to charge up to 15W".

"Output:

5V / 3A / 27W
9V / 3A / 27W"

Another interesting note is it comes with a $2500 connected equipment warranty, and a 2-year warranty on the charger itself.

Just to add more confusion, apparently the outer packaging says a >25W charger is needed, but the included manual says >27W.

This is nothing but a schill product and I wouldn't buy it for any amount more than $5.
I don't get this. If you had a bad experience, you don't think it's a good product, fine. Share that. I'm sure some will find it helpful. But calling everything you don't like a shill product is...just..so dumb. It makes it difficult for anyone trust your opinion.

It's not going to charge an iPhone faster than 7.5W.
Probably correct since my USB tester shows 10w when my phone is under 50% SOC, then it drops down to 7-8w. Much slower than a wired charger, but good enough for my purposes. I would certainly hope that a genuine Magsafe charger would be faster, at more than 10x the price.

That's what I'm thinking. Everyone is talking about fast charging, and while I can see the benefit of that in some situations, like travel, I'd rather use slow charging for my everyday routine. More efficient, less heat, better for long term battery life. I charge my phone when I go to bed. So I don't care if it takes a long time to charge, as long as it's charged by the time I get up. If I really need a fast charge in a pinch, I'll just plug it in. That's always going to be faster than "wireless" charging.

This one doesn't have the metal kickstand. Make sure to select the metal kickstand if that's what you want.
Good catch on that. Does anyone know if the metal kickstand version is older or newer than the "non" metal kickstand?

For those of you that have one, which version do you recommend?

Under the product information section on the Amazon product site it says the white plastic was first available in 2021 and the metal version was in 2022. You need to select the different versions up top for that information to change on the page. Given that, it seems like the metal version might be newer.

It's not a plug. It's a wireless charger. The "plug" portion of this device plugs into a power supply on the wall.

There's several pro's and con's to a device like this instead of plugging in a cable, like USB C. One major pro is that wireless charging does not wear out like the physical port can. Especially if you move or use the device while charging.
