This is going to be the normal price. They told Audioholics that during CEDIA in September. Also, is it available near you? Its not near me and a few other people I know around the country

I imagine it's the same as any other TV you just have to have the proper mount and in this case a buddy to help (due to the size)

600x400 vesa mount, 162lbs. So mounts that support that. That said, my 98" TCL is 850x400 and weighs slightly less. The 850 required a mount that hit 3 studs vs 2, 600 should work with 2 studs. I'm no architecture expert but I'd recommend a mount that hits 3 studs for peace of mind.

Might be the 98" TCL which is a year or two old.

Will be interesting to see what the quality is like on this Hisense. It is an 8 series but it will matter what panel they use & what compromises that might introduce compared to the 85" model.

It just released, and they already have to slap a 50% discount on it?

Seems like a good deal for a TV this size and the ratings this set has. Based on my experience with hisense sets, id highly recommend getting an extended warranty.

Also, I'm not sure why they set the model # to "U8K" which may confuse some people. This is a 4K set.

For some reason they skipped "i" and "j" (I think it had something to do with the Japanese market), but yeah it wasn't really smart to go to "k" considering that's how resolution is marketed.

I believe it is supposed to be ips-ads and it has potential, but you have to calibrate it.

I bought the new TCL 98" S5 last month from BB for $3000 (now $4000). Good TV for the size and price, but off axis viewing is washed out. Sweet spot viewing is excellent. Originally ordered last year's 98" XR version from Amazon and it was damaged in shipment. I will be looking to see a comparison between the TCL S5 and this Hisense 100"

ah ok i was thinking about that. looking at the tech, looks like this hisense is better(local dimming mini led vs directlit on the tcl s5)
