Ridge Tools got it's name from Ridgeville Ohio, where it was started.
Lifetime Warranty and Lifetime Service Agreement are different things. Product is not defective if it wears out from excessive use. Under the LSA that would be covered
If you had 3 other shop vacs, why were you borrowing it. 🤔

How does it compare with Costco's DeWalt 8 gallon dry/wet vacuum? Despite the volume.

I use this for home dust collection hooked up to a cyclone dust collector for everything from cutting to sanding to milling. I also added the filter bag. So I bought one of these like 3 years ago and a few months ago it started to make a grindy sound and it died. I remember buying this because it had lifetime warranty so I emailed them for support. They had me take a few pictures of the inside after I described my grindy and smelling smoke situation before it died. They confirmed it was under warranty and I had a new unit within a week. Good warranty I would buy this without question. I think I got mine on sale for around $70 on black Friday many years ago.

I just had a Mandela effect moment. Out of curiosity, I went to look up some information on their partnership with Home Depot. Apparently, it's "Ridgid" and not "Rigid"

https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/

I don't know if it was someone here on Slickdeals who did it, but somebody did something that altered our timeline. I don't know what other changes they caused, but this is one of them.
Ridgid originally was made by a standalone company called "The Ridge Tool Company" before it was bought out. That's where the "D" comes from. Not sure if Ridge is from someone's name.

So it would seem that you're part of the coverup.

Bought this one a few years ago on another similar sale... it's been a great vacuum but man it is big. Didn't consider how much I would hate hauling it around the house for various projects. Ended up buying a much smaller Ridgid vac for that stuff so this big one just stays in the garage for garage projects.

You need the muffler/diffuser accessory for the exhaust port.
Interesting. Well if that is the case, they should have provided it with the unit. RE: this unit being WAY TOO LOUD.

I ended up selling it and for pretty much the same cost and got the Dewalt 8 gallon from Costco. The Dewalt seems to have much more suction but I suppose that's deceiving w/ the smaller diameter hose it uses. Either way, 8 gallon is much better for my needs...

Any deals on the 6.5 hp version that has a smaller compact size? I need sucking power, but don't need a massive container…

I bought the previous model from another retailer a few years back open box "like new" but like new meant someone used it for a big project and sent it back.

It finally died on me and I reached out to Rigid directly and they sent me this model brand new. I have been very pleased, no suction issues. They told me their products come with a lifetime warranty.

I have this very model and it's been very solid for me. At this price it's a no brainer.

This thing seriously sucks, in a good way. One of my most used tools for sure. Just be warned it's very big so kind of clumsy to lug around from room to room if you have to.

I also have an 18V battery powered Ryobi which I probably use more just because it's more convenient even though it's not even close to as strong. But when I need serious power this thing always gets the job done.
