This is about the price I'd drop for a 2TB version

I'm sorta 50/50 on it. I bought the system knowing its storage limitations, but I don't fully accept the pricing on the storage expansion. They're really ripping people off with those prices. The prices aren't low enough for me to buy, but I'm sure they are for others. I do always appreciate these posts because everyone has a different price point where they're willing to buy the proprietary storage. In the interim, I just use a regular portable HDD to move my games back and forth. I don't need all my games all the time.

Have there been any test to see if this one is faster than the Seagate version?

Since both use the "Xbox Velocity Architecture" they should be close, or identical.. I did i quick google search and found some reddit post / reviews that seem to back this up, but I could not find a specific benchmark comparison.

But I am very brand loyal to WD, I have had other Seagate products that died an early death.

I saw a YouTube demonstrating this version to be a little faster in real world performance.

If the 2TB ever gets to the $125 range, I'll be there. I'll hold out hope for that one day.

Target just had them for like 90 bucks. It was fluky but some crazy deal could happen again, I'm just going to keep an eye out, hope springs eternal.

Still too high of a price IMO, regardless of competition or previous price.

Exactly. I'm sure most can afford it at $150 but that doesn't make it ok. Only paid $200 for the entire system.. Holding til BF in hopes another $90-100 deal swings around.

Tho between Starfield and CoD my poor lil Series S drive is hurting Frown
