Looks like the Buy 3 months Get 3 Months Free that Best Buy has been offering every October isn't coming this year. There are usually 2 deals around this time of year but this post is the only one from Best Buy so far. Not bad with all plans working out to $10-15 a month.
Best Buy has a 3-Month Mint Mobile sim/eSIM 15GB/Month + Unlimited Talk/Text + $30 Best Buy eGift Card for $60 & More + Free S&H
There's also a deal for unlimited data with a $45 Best Buy eGift card for $90.
These plans work out to $10 a month considering the gift card which can be used to roll the deal: These plans work out to $15 a month considering the gift card which can be used to roll the deal:There are also eSIMs available but the reviews are horrible. I purchased one but haven't tried activating yet. But I have used physical SIMs from Best Buy without issue and eSIMs from Mint Mobile's website without issue.

I would give red pocket a try. You will use the same AT&T towers but pay a fraction. Be sure to check your phone is unlocked and get it unlocked before trying to switch if it's locked somehow.
This of course assumes you are already on Google Voice master race, unless you don't care what your phone number is or just use WiFi / Data for voice/messaging.
Main thing I would say do is contact Mint Mobile either through chat or calling right after you sign up and ask for your Account Number and PIN if you plan to port out after the 3 months. Trying to get it at the end of your 3 months can take over a day since their customer service works stupid hours and chat option will tell you an agent is on the way when they aren't even open. Save your port out information so you can quickly port out.
I pay at&t $84 a month per month for a phone I bought outright 3 years ago. I get 9gb per month of data.
I want to keep my same number, upgrade my phone and pay less than $80
Thanks!
Keep in mind most cellphone companies like Mint are resellers, and in this case Mint is a reseller of T-mobile. If T-mobile works great in your area then bingo! you are all set. Otherwise look for a reseller of ATT, RedPocket Mobile and Cricket are both ATT resellers.
Also porting your existing number to google voice will allow you to score better price phone plans, since most of these deals require you to be "new customer." I basically buy a new phone plan and selected the new phone number option every time.
Finally if you have questions message me. Hope this helps!

Porting out and back in, keeping the same phone number. Usually out and back within 1-3 days.
I've had Google Voice for about 13 years, but I do notice that phone calls are much clearer when people call me directly and not through Google Voice. So because of that and the phase out of texting directly from my phone with Google Voice, I finally started giving people my real phone number about 2 years ago. I know most people with Google Voice don't know how to (or even realize they can) use GV to make calls/texts directly from their phone without the GV app. But that's how I used it until it got to where texts didn't come through correctly (or at all). At least that's the case with iPhone. I still use it for calls though if it's someone who doesn't have my real number.
1) Some of the plans are for $30 for 3 months of service -- so $45 is good, but $30 is much better.
2) One of the $30 plans available is 15 GB (formerly the lowest priced plan was 5GB, before that 4GB, and before that 2GB).
A bonus reason is the fact that it's available now. No need to wait on it to come around again. For the many like me who roll this and other 3-month plan deals often, it's a year since purchasing the buy 3 months get 3 months free deal which means it's time to renew! Great timing!
So those are my reasons. One other thing I'd point out is that $45 for the Unlimited Data plan is not common. It's usually $60, even though they did have a deal directly through Mint about a month ago where all 3-month plans were $45. However I haven't seen that as often as the other repeat deals. Plus, the ones directly through Mint Mobile have extra fees at checkout. I only purchased directly through them once because it was a sale, and I had an AMEX offer, so it made sense.
