Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

All the advertising says "any straight talk plan" but also indicates "Offer not available for Family (Multiline) plans." The $35 plan meets both criteria. Someone suggested you have the salesperson attempt doing the $35 plan just to see if it will work. Also, if he says $45 plan is required, maybe he can show you his literature that says so.

Edit: just reread that you already purchased, so my suggestions are moot. To answer your question, the $35 plan should've been enough.
I wonder if there's any way to change it back to the $35 plan. I suspect not. The charge is listed as a "Straight Talk $45 Unlimited 30 Days Airtime Card."

I got this today at my local Walmart. I tried to buy it at 8:30 am, but the "phone guy" wasn't in and wasn't scheduled to be there until 12 or 1 pm. I came back at 1 pm and tried to order the phone, but the "phone guy" didn't have the key to the cage. After, waiting 15 minutes the guy with the key showed up and unlocked the cage and brought out the phone. I told him I wanted the $35 plan, but he said it had to be the $45 plan to get the phone for $49. Is that true?
No. Not true. Just tell him frankly you want the phone with the $35 plan and then look deeply into his eyes when he rings them up.

From straighttalk.com: Plans are not returnable or refundable. So you are correct, there's no way to change it.

Interesting enough if they cancel our orders and refund us that would also make that part of their lingo a lie.

While looking in his eyes make sure you let him know he is the knight who will fight for his honor....

I got that error too online, but then had no problem activating by calling the phone number they provided and using the automated system (without having to actually talk to someone).

Any updates on 11/6 pending remote fulfillment orders? Called ST yesterday after like 100 calls since the 6th and was told to wait 10 business days before they can create a ticket to investigate. I thought I read someone here got a ticket created and was refunded. I just want a refund at this point since I already purchased at Walmart

My order on 11/6 with a $35 plan and an order on 11/7 with a $45 plan are both still in pending remote fulfillment. On my call with ST yesterday for they indicated they had no stock. (or course they still sell it on the website for $99 with a $45 plan.)

Honestly I think that's giving them too much leeway. As a consumer I'll give them 3 days to fix it otherwise I'm charging back. If they fix it after I initiate the charge back that is on them. I have proof I've tried reaching out and when your card issuer tries to contact them they will have the same results and will side with you. We need to stop letting these companies just do whatever they want.

I went to Walmart today and got 4 phones all with 35$ plan. Requested unlock for all of them and all returned message saying it will be unlocked by 01-14. Walmart employee knew exactly what he was doing. Funny thing is that the same store 1d before didn't have the phone or maybe the guy at that time didn't know what was the deal anyhow keep going in to the store to try to get the deal. I tried with straight talk online ordering and didn't succeed.
Did you get a plan discount on 2 lines? Like 35 plan for first line and 25 for second

I've bought 10 from 3 Walmarts and each is rung up separately. I did get discounts when I bought two off straight talk online
