Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Welp today was day 62, I successfully went from Se 2020 to 2022 without any issues with data transfer or from PSIM to ESIM

Thanks a lot now I have 5g
Was it unlocked automatically or you have to request and get a code to complete the process? After first month (Straight Talk $30 plan) expired and you did not renew/refill, did you noticed that your phone cellular service is terminated?

You type 611611 , it should give you the date of the unlock.
Is the unlock automatic on 61st day or user have to support text " 611611 UNLOCK" and ask to get the unlock code to complete the online unlock process? I think support communication will work even though you have not paid for the second month service!!!

All I did was after activating it, send the unlock request mentioned on first page, it said unlock will happen in 2 months. I didn't get a message I also didn't subscribe for a second month. I made sure it was over 61 days. Just did a phone restore from old to new and it asked to activate Esim I said yes and bam it worked

Texting 611611 is just for your information and not required for the unlock. You don't need to do that and you also don't need to renew beyond the initial month of service. The unlock should be automatic for iPhones (usually around day 60, but sometimes a few days later)

Straight Talk said: to unlock you need to call straight talk on your phone after 60 days.
How can you call the support if you have not paid for the second month refill? Didn't your straight talk cellular services terminated?

I think you might still be able to call 611611 from the phone since it's a system number … but don't do that. Call their unlock dept directly. It's an 800 or 888 number and should be in one of the text messages they sent. Also, there's no point worrying about it until after 60 days, as it shouldn't be needed anyway.

After two months, Is the SE unlocked by Apple or by straight talk? I plan to use the sim card in another phone and stop paying after the first month

It's not recommended to swap sim before you get the phone unlocked. It could mess the unlocking. But I don't have personal experience on it.

Traded mine in on a free iPhone 15 today (Bill credits) with T-Mobile.
$830 off with a new line I was planning on adding anyway for $10/month.

Thanks again!

got it for $99 from ST today with $45 plan. This is the lowest I can find the SE. during thanksgiving went to 3-4 walmarts and none of them had it. Either they were sold out or they had a phone, but no ST representative.

$145, not the best deal. But not a bad option for a high schooler.

I got one phone from Walmart and another one online Straight talk, the phone I got from Straight talk activated but the walmart one forgot to activate, I tried to activate it today but did not activate the service plan since 1 month passed after purchase of the service plan. Could someone help if there is any alternative way to activate the phone with out buying new service plan.
You need to go back to the store and get the PIN number to activated it. I had that happen with two of the phones I bought. "It should come activated right out of the box" is the typical line… make sure you get the 15 digit activation pin printed on a sheet of paper by the mobile tech.

When I texted 611611, it said the service end date was 12/13, but I'm still able to call other phones today. Is there some kind of grace period before ST cancels service?

Did you get yours from ST or WM? At some point, I think ST was giving new customers an extra 30 days for free or something and some people reported getting extra time like that, although I think that was for orders directly from them.
