12th gen cpu and ddr4. These have to start dropping across the board. More BF deals incoming.
Agreed. Subpar 1080p screen also. 4070's should be 1440p standard imo.

Great value laptop, plays Baldurs Gate 3 and Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy with no problems. The speakers on my unit are quiet, but no complaints on anything else.

No, DDR4 Laptops cannot be upgraded to DDR5. Recommend to instead upgrading to 32gb of DDR4.

Just a word of warning that this panel, while featuring decent color gamut and nice features like Advanced Optimus and G-SYNC, appears to have a pretty poor response time.

I noticed that this laptop comes with a couple of free gifts including an Alan wake 2 game code. If I return the laptop but don't redeem the code for the game would they still charge me for the "free gift" or they will give me the full refund? I was reading on reddit that BestBuy will deduct the price of the game code upon return of the laptop regardless if I redeemed the code or not which sounds ridiculous.

Edit: I don't want any of these codes and I am not going to redeem them. I just didn't know that I had to manually remove all these autoadded items before checkout or I would be charged for them upon returning the laptop. I just thought that if I simply don't redeem any of the codes I won't be charged for any of them.

Tempting. But with the old CPU & RAM and the middling screen, I'm going to bet the field and wait for another good 4070 for up to $1200

I got this during the last round.
To start, 1080p at 15.6 inches is 141 Pixels Per Inch. Compare that to whatever you're using for a PC monitor, and I'm sure you'll find that this display is plenty crisp enough.
Personally, I would find a higher resolution at this size and aspect ratio to be a waste of power and performance. Though, I would absolutely love a 16:10 display.
In addition, the specs are on point for the price, and it's decently built. Overall, I 'm very happy with it, and I do find it to be Slick at this price.

All the fools don't understand pixel density and don't get the 1080 on 14 inch would be more crispy than the 4k on an 85 inch....

100%

Also there hasnt been any other laptop deal YET to even come close to the 4070 at $1000 price, the older CPU and RAM mean nothing when it still wont bottleneck the 4070. Overall a great deal, and its been this price at least 3 times now, so I am going to keep on waiting and see what BF brings, if nothing better I will jump on this next time I see it.

The 4050 deal from best buy was great for a throw away, this will be the replacement for my desktop in the future, should still get some great money for my custom build to offset this cost.

It means that there are people out there that will try return an item and leave the next purchaser with a bum code
This is slickdeals. People will literally steal from retailers and complain when they close a loophole. Honestly refunded redeemed codes sounds like a frontpage deal. I'll take that any day over wading through pages of health nut central though.

I've noticed a lot of people shit on the TUF models. i seriously doubt many of them have actually used the laptop for a decent amount of time.

I bought the 17in with the 3060 last year when it was on sale for 800ish. I absolutely love it. The build quality is fantastic. Because it is not one of those minimalist gaming laptops, I've had zero issues with airflow and cooling. People bitch about the nits. Seriously 250-300 nits is perfectly fine. I mean, are you planning on taking your laptop to the park and sit in the sun and play video games? People seriously find any little detail and immediately talk shit about the product.

I've been extremely happy with my purchase, and glad I didn't go with one of the more pricier ASUS gaming laptop lines.
