18.75 per month. Used energy monitor on this device for 3 months straight ended up getting rid of it because of the energy use
This thing eats power like crazy. 225 a year to operate the fake energy guide at 53 is a joke

Was this located in a garage or outside where it is not climate controlled?

Was this measured in the summer with your energy rates for summer only? Our "4 months" of Summer in GA is around $0.11 per kwh and 0.05 the other months.

If $18.75 here in Summer then it would be about $8.50 other 8 months for a total of $143 instead of $225.

For most people it will cost $53 per year to run or the unit is defective.

If the unit used the 85W it claims and it ran for 18 hours a day it would cost $53 at $0.095 average per KWH.

It won't use that much electricity unless the unit is defective.

85W just can't reach $18.75 per month unless there is some crazy electric rates.

It would have to be $0.31 per KWH rate.

In GA it is $0.11 in summer and $0.05 the other months.

The unit should use around $4.50 per month on average.

Looking for something to put by the pool. How well does this work outside in Florida if it's out of the sun? Will it cool or no?

I have a slightly larger NewAir. Only the bottom two shelves get cold enough to be considered refrigeration. Middle shelf registers ~44 degrees according to my thermometer; and it gets slightly warmer up at the top. This is my 2nd unit; Newair replaced the first thinking it was a defect but the 2nd performs the same exact way. I ended up keeping it given the discount I received but I wouldn't purchase again.

I live in not-average California. PG&E base rate is $0.345 kWh. 😢 Price goes up for higher usage tiers which any house will hit monthly. (Maybe not an apartment.)

DAAANG 😳. I'm unplugging my empty wine refrigerator now. Don't know these NewAirs were that energy inefficient.

Where is the energy going in terms of inefficiency? Does this unit get really hot/expel a lot of hot air?
