Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

Thanks. And first day of activation will be the first day I turn the phone on after receipt?
No. For Verizon activation date = ship date. Trying to confirm for AT&T.

Verizon default unlocks in 60 days. If you don't want to wait use the AT&T unlock website on the Verizon phone and then it will unlock immediately. See the iPhone 13 Walmart thread wiki for more info.
The iPhone 13 use physical sim so people can use an inactive ATT sim to activate the phone. Do you know if there is inactive eSim so we can do the ATT trick

Based on deal details mentioned in post and reading through comments I see following is the deal.

**I currently have -*
iphone 11
Unlocked
At&t family plan but I am not the primary account holder

**Get 300 Walmart gift card**
1. **No trade in
2. Buy iphone 15 pro with at&t , get new line
3. Once you receive phone and gift card from Walmart
4. Activate your phone and confirm that new line is working.
5. Put in request from at&t app to payoff the phone and cancel line
6. Once phone is paid off and line cancelled, "use transfer esim" option to transfer phone line from existing old phone to new phone

**Total amount paid $$$**
iphone 15 pro total cost + $65 at&t activation charge + prorated at&t unlimited plan bill (till new at&t line is cancelled) - 300 gift card

**Open questions**
1. New line activation is on the day phone is shipped or picked up from store or on delivery date or on the day you activate your phone after phone is delivered?
2. at&t website FAQ page says ETF is not applicable if you cancel within 14 days of activation of wireless service?

Can some one please confirm if this understanding is correct?

Please confirm if below understanding is correct.
1. Buy S23 phone on a monthly plan.
2. Activate the $65 monthly Verizon plan
3. Wait for 20 days to get the gift card.
4. Once Walmart gift card received, cancel the verizon monthly plan.
5. Phone will be automatically unlocked after 60 days.

Total amt payed for S23 is $799+65+taxes., is this correct.

Can the plan be cancel next day or that will risk getting walmart gift card, please advise.
You need to take into account of the activation fee as well.

There is no physical sim in the iPhone 14 or 15? I know 13 has a physical and eSIM and we used a new AT&T physical sim.

This looks right to me.
I plan to do the same but in store. Just not sure if there will be any in stock.

why these phones not available in store?
For shipping, it will be over 3 days, thus not able to get activation fee back.
For the iPhone 13 deal a couple weeks ago, Activation Date = Ship Date for Verizon phones. Nobody on AT&T has responded to let us know if Activation date = Ship date for AT&T as well. Therefore you should be able to still cancel within 3 days, at least for Verizon. For Verizon you can also pay off the phone before receiving it..

Right, but if you buy from AT&T you should still be able to unlock using a different method. Not sure if it will work for Verizon as I haven't tried transferring an unactivated eSim between phones. If you can do that, it may still unlock.

Heck I'll give it a try. You would need to (for example) convert the physical H2O sim to an eSim, then transfer it between iPhones on the same apple account.

Edit: no option to transfer h2o physical SIM to eSIM. h2o website requires activation ($18 minimum plan) to get eSIM to an unlocked phone Frown
Another option would be the "tryCricket" app where you activate using an eSIM, free for 14 days. I am not sure if the unlock will work though given this is an active (not inactive) line.

Ok so does the AT&T website tool unlock the eSIM? Do they have more than 1 eSIM?

All of these prices are without trade-in, except for the 15 series of iPhones, where you can get bill credits for trade-in.

S23 ultra as well

If only doing the GC deal to use on T-Mobile, which is easier to cancel (pay in full) & unlock? Which has lower activation fees? ATT or Verizon? Or, same?
