Side note: was hoping for Gen 5 NVME, this doesn't appear to be the case
I bought the mobo in this deal because it was so cheap, but if the MSI one is that much better, I might just flip this one later.
Do you have a thunderbolt or usb-c monitor? Pass thru works because it's literally a DisplayPort cable from gpu to motherboard.
--if you are not planning to use thunderbolt for display then ignore, not an issue. there are very few thunderbolt displays anyway.
--if you are planning to only use displayport or hdmi from internal or separate gpu then ignore not an issue
--if you are wanting to use usb-c for display, then this is may be an issue, because in this case you can only route the internal GPU over the thunderbolt/usb-c ports. there is no way to use an separate GPU for display over tb/usb-c
one common reason to want to do display over usb-c is that with a usb-c monitor, you only need 1 cable for display and power to the monitor. this is handy if you are building a portable-ish small computer (which this ITX board is great for....) and bringing a usb-c portable monitor.
even if you are not planning to use internal gpu, i would strongly recommend you buy a CPU with internal GPU, many small form factor builds use PCIE riser extensions for the GPU and sometimes there are compatability issues like the riser is gen3 but the board is gen4 and you have to change a setting in the bios, having an internal GPU for troubleshooting is worth the extra $20.
despite the TB issue i mentioned above, with the rebate i'm strongly considering ordering one of these and putting it on the shelf as i think 12-14th gen will serve me for the next 3-4 years and otherwise this board is pretty feature packed for about the price of a b660/b760 board.
