The solar panel is finally starting to show some wear, so I'm not sure how much longer it'll last. I imagine that charging performance will just drop off over time. At the prices they're going for though, if you can get a few years out of one before having to replace it then I think it's still a good deal. Would be nice if I could just replace the solar panel when the time comes though.

Anecdote: I bought my first one 26 months ago and it still works fine. I'm in Colorado (just outside Denver). We don't always have clear skies here and I'm surprised how well the solar panel actually works to keep it going year-round.
