If this one is overkill (size/ cost) for anyone, the SPL-120 is on decent sale on Amazon @ $359

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FK6Q2CM/

However if you buy a non-Reference Premier (ex. the one I provided above), you lose 3 years of electronics warranty. Reference is 5/5 and all others are 2/5.

Does anyone know how to apply store credit at Adorama? I'm not seeing anywhere and I have a lot. Theyre telling me to call their sales department but the sales department can't ring it in at this price (which would defeat the point of the store credit)

I just upgraded my setup from the R-610f, R-52c, RM-41 to the RP-8000f RP-504c, and the RP-600m, now the question is should I replace my dual R-100SW setup for one of these now and add a second later?

The two subs I have now are definitely entry level - wondering how one sub of the RP-1400sw would do - night and day difference I imagine?
You typically get very spotty bass coverage in a room with one sub. Peaks and dips everywhere. One spot will be like your head is inside the subwoofer, and a couple feet away will be "where's the bass?"
2 subs placed across the room from each other basically fill in the bass gaps. 4 subs, one on each wall or corner is ideal.

Same... makes sense to go dual while you can at this price else you'll get yourself stuck. If you end up downsizing it's an easy sell-off at cost.
I disagree with it being an easy sell-off, the subwoofer is gigantic. Yes there is a big Clips following and the price is right but it's definitely going to take a special buyer that's okay with putting a mini refrigerator in their space

Thanks for the reply - I know the two I have now are not 'great' R-100SW in fact I think the new towers I bought, RP-8000f are just about as good in their own right and would outdo the current subwoofers I have. Do you think it's worth the upgrade to get one of these now over the two I have and upgrade to two later, or would you stick with the upgraded speakers and look for a smaller but better two sub combo?

These things seem huge - 26" deep - yikes!

Our over decade old polk505 finally died and was about to grab the 1200sw when I saw the price went back to 650. For 50 more, I think this is a much better deal, thanks op
I bit and my RP1400SW is arriving this Wednesday. Also purchased a pair of RP8000F, RP600M II and a RP504C at a really great price. Only old piece to remain in our living room for now is the AVR, which I am currently looking for something to replace with as well.

This is the best price I have found for this subwoofer. Once you listen to it, you won't ever want to go back to a 12" sub with less power. I got rid of my 2 Klipsch 12" r-12sw subwoofers that were 200 watts. I thought one was fine but got another on sale. I thought 2 was "wow". Then I saw this and it's 500 watts and 1000 watts peak and 14" tight and clear bass. Unbelievable sound. Klipsch nailed it with this line of subs

Seriously considering a pair of these to replace my monolith v1 15" sub. Damn the temptation; slight concern the smaller woofer would result in a drop in punch but not sure.

Well, received the sub today from Adorama. Unfortunately UPS gave it their standard treatment and the wood cabinet is crushed on two corners. Adorama support wasn't very confidence inspiring... they told me to send them some photos, and they'd open a damage claim with UPS. When I asked when I'd get a replacement, they said that would be determined based on the outcome of the damage claim with UPS.

I'm getting SUPER nervous that I'm about to get screwed over, since Adorama seems to want the customer to wait while they work everything out with UPS. I'd think quality customer service would be to work this stuff out in the background and just get the customer taken care of right then.

Thats conundrum, what the capabilities are and what you actually get are usually not the same.
Not to mention how it will actually sound to you.

This will definitely dig lower but as you pointed out it has a huge footprint.
Proper placement plays an important role, a big footprint often interferes with that.

You can get away with one sub if you implement it correctly.
People always talk about peaks and valleys, as long as they aren't in your seating position(s) why worry where they are in the rest of the room.

BTW a 2nd sub improperly placed can actually make those peaks and valley worse.

If you are unhappy with your current subs I would get one of these and see how it works out.
If it can't cover all your seat positions, you can always get another later.
Keep in mind the huge footprint and placement.

I wouldn't that Monolith is much better in practical use. Just wait for a deal on another Mono would be my suggestion.

My box was pretty busted but the unit itself looked fine. Too awkward to handle alone so I asked for help and the gf dropped it…

But the thing is huge, probably should have stuck with 12" πŸ˜…
