By any chance did you apply firmware updates? Apparently that's also a hassle because the soundbar needs a lot of help and a separate computer/USB stick to do the manual update. I'm not sure if the firmware updates help the Vizio soundbar better interoperate with Samsung TVs, or resolve the other weird issues that require periodically unplugging and replugging the soundbar?
I bought this exact soundbar and used it VERY LIGHTLY for about a year.
It once day just refused to turn on.
Caveat emptor when it comes to Vizio.

*So yea, this was $300 multiple times in August/September of 2021. I know it's a great system, but I personally can't imagine paying more than $300 for it now.
Now I'm pretty much stuck, it's not worth 350 to solve the issues when it works sometimes (assuming this new version would even solve the issues). Have also thought about buying a cheap 5.1 thats at least reliable but I dont want to give up Atmos (even though I dont even know when its on TBH).
And yes also I was surprised at the pricing, I just assumed after some yrs atmos bars would be dirt cheap by now. Guess inflation gottem cus they arent.

With the extended return period for the holiday season, you have 2 months to put it through the paces. I watched Dune on this and the surround sound directionality was great and immersive. For those of you complaining that the price hasn't dropped more after 2 years is a testament to the fact the sound quality holds up well to its competition.
Every 5.1 set I've tried in the $250–500 range has its weaknesses, whether it's weak/overpowering subwoofer, weak rear speakers, firmware issues etc. I guess YMMV depending on what tv setup you have and what your expectations are.

I owned both Vizio bars; 5.1 and 5.1.2 and there is not noticeable difference. Get the 5.1 if you want to save. Get the 5.1.2 if you want these additional speakers that has very little effect.
