Well they can use the old usb a charger with usb a to usb c cable if they want to slow charge, because with magsafe, you also get excessive heat compare to charging with cable.

So to recap,

Magsafe
Slow
More Heat than regular port charging
Still dealing with cable
Only good while on the go to avoid clutter
It's an opinion on the Internet. Why does it bother you? I personally disagree with their opinion but still gave them a thumbs up for expressing a valid point coherently.
I get your point. Only reason I'm considering is because lately my phone for some reason sometimes doesn't charge intermittently. First I thought it was the cable, but now I'm realizing my charge port may be getting warn down since my phone is years old. It doesn't happen when I want it to, but I've woken up to an uncharged phone. So a MagSafe charger ensures it charges. I may just get a new phone but the magsafe idea is a good way to push it another year if I ever get to the point where my charge port gets more unreliable.

It's not bad. I have an OtterBox case and it still charges. Though not as well.

To be honest, i still don't get why people are buying magsafe charger for home, lol. It plugs to the wall and when you charge your iphone, you will still cluttered with cable from the magsafe charger AND to top it off, it's slower than if you use the usb c or lightning port.

Magsafe is good when you are using portable power bank vs power bank with cable to plug to iphone port. Its slower but you pay for convenience not having cable while on the go. Also magsafe is good when you are in your car since it's also double as a phone mount, but for home? Can't see why…

That's your opinion..... Why in the world would somebody wants to charge their phone on fast charge when they are sleeping for at least 6 to 8 hours. And when you need to charge your phone quickly, charge with the cable provided.

Why do you care? We get it, you're super smart about wireless charging. But how someone chooses to charge their phone affects you exactly 0%. Personally, it's more comfortable to hold my phone in bed using a MagSafe charger compared to a cable. Doesn't matter how slow it charges, doesn't matter if there's more heat, etc. Stop gatekeeping meaningless shit.

Just personal preference. At work, my job requires me to constantly move around the office so I have to take my phone with me; MagSafe makes it convenient that I don't have to plug in and out each time. I am also not on the phone all the time so I am not concerned about battery drain. When I'm back in my chair I can keep my phone top off even though it's slower charging.

yes, this is one positive point for using magsafe, to reduce your charging port from wearing out because when it does, then the port must be replaced. but using magsafe also wears out the battery due to heat, so i guess it's the lesser cost of the two replacement, the battery or the port. and from my point of view, usb c port seems to worn out faster than lighting due to design, as usb c port has that middle board sticking out, you break that, new port, lightning on the other hand doesn't have that, lightning is a superior port when it comes to charging only.

Agreed. My battery is pretty shot too lol. I may do a replacement battery and go one more year, still deciding. Port replacement is definitely more involved.
