You need an Android phone for seamless experience. On iPhone you need to use the app to make call. This is usually not a huge problem, but it is a PITA especially if you also use Apple Car play (siri-assisted calls/sms goes through phone's primary number)
Some banks (the only one I have trouble with is Chase.. there maybe others) don't do OTPs with Google Voice number. I just use the actual SIM's number for that.
Because you keep switching your real number to take advantage of new-customer offers all the time (you dont have to, but you do if you want cheapest price), you get assigned random numbers that random people have used to register at all kinds of sites. This usually means lots of spam calls. If you have a Pixel phone (or some other spam call filter), this is easily dealt with, but you need to
I still have a google voice number, but these drawbacks now annoy me enough so google voice is no longer my primary. But if your priority is to save money , there is nothing like Google Voice and taking advantage of those new-customer MVNO deals (I've lost count of Mint/Boost/Redpocket deals I've taken advantage of).

Does this kit still work for me?
than set got a esim option.
I call in and they verify over the phone.
If you are using iPhone, you cant route native dialer through Google Voice. You have to place the call using the Google Voice app. Incoming calls will still ring your phone at XXX.
If I forward through GV will this work when I do not have data service? I live in an area that often has black holes for data but still has a bit of service.
How do you set up your phone's native phone app to use Google Voice number?

2. If you are buying this, is the intention only for 3 months? So after 3 months, you going to buy another mint mobile plan or you can switch back to your ultramobile or lycamobile plan? Does ultramobile or lycamobile not allow you to join again if you don't use them for 3 months and then come back to them or they don't care? But as long as you have the ultramobile or lycamobile sim card, you are fine? You don't need to buy a new sim right? Now if you later months down the line go back to mint mobile, can you keep the same mint mobile pin?
3. Is this a great deal since even getting the 5gb/month plan, you pay $60 and get a $45 target gift card so you paying $15 for 3 months so $5 a month only? But that $60 you pay, you have to pay tax right? So $66 for 3 months but $45 target gift card so $21 total and $7 a month?
You choose the 15gb/month plan you pay $60 plus tax and get $40 gift card so you pay around $22 so just barely more than the 5gb/month plan and get 10gb more data a month?
You choose the unlimted everthing plan, you pay $90 so with tax say $99. Subtract the $60 gift card so you pay around $39 so $13 for unlimited everything. Is the math here correct?
So could someone do this plan every 3 months with mint mobile and keep repeating it? I mean that seems cheaper than the cheaper phone plans like ultramobile and lycamobile even with say the 1gb or 3gb plans from them?
